Looking at the devs,the barefoot thing doesnt surprise me one bit.
I guess it must be okay walking over corrupted land covered in blight and the occasional demon blood barefoot. i mean makes sense, nothing to worry there.
But yes, I hate it too since Dragon age 2.

However, going barefoot on concrete and wood and other surfaces with no give is not good for your feet at all.
If you are barefoot on dirt and other natural surfaces that have some give (not rocks), it is different, but man-made surfaces are not good to be barefoot on and will cause issues over time.
As for OP, the barefoot armors are Veil Jumper armors, other factions armor is not barefoot.
