Any plans for a demo version of Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
Does anybody know if there is any plan to add a demo of the game on Steam?
I know you can refund if you don't like it but I think the 2 hours windows isn't enough to explore what this game has to offer.
I believe a demo version would be a more proper and complete way to get a feel of the game.

how do you think a demo version would work to show more than 2 hours with the game would not?
As far as I understand, even the character creation process can take more than 2 hours so there will be no time to play the actual game.

A demo can take place in any slice of the game, doesn't need to start from the beginning, but in story driven game that would also spoil stuff.

I honestly think they should put the CC up for people to play with if not a demo. I can understand not doing a demo actually. The tutorial process is quite drawn out and it takes quite a few hours into the game to get to the best content.

That makes sense and great idea with making the CC available somehow. Thanks for this.

You should probably watch a Youtube video of the first hour or so of play. That's a good idea to see the mechanics and basics of the game. Or you could pick a character preset to try it, the character creation process taking multiple hours is a choice but to 'demo' the game, pick one of the premade staring characters and jump in. Two hours is enough to see the basics, for sure.

I have watched some youtube videos but still on the fence about it. Any recommendation of a balanced let's play/review?
Going with a preset might be an option indeed.

You can revisit the character creation system not far into the game, anyway (well, the appearance parts of it, anyway; not lineage / class / faction).

So. pick lineage / class / faction of your choice, don't fuss with the aesthetics, get your 2h of gameplay in, and decide whether to stick with it.

Good stuff, thanks!

Not true. The character creation process can take several minutes, not 2 hours, even if you nit pick details to get your character just the way you envision. If you want to try out the game, simply accept a prefab character and the default Inquisitor/back story. Playing the intro will tell you all you need to know about whether you'll like the game or not.

If they do this they should also make sure that people who might take a long time creating a character are able to import the one they create somehow instead of having to recreate in game or some folks might get a bit upset about it. :Heart_Eyes_Harding:

They will never do a demo. They don't want people to know just how bad it is before buying it in the hopes they will go past the 2 hour refund time.

oh sorry Etragorn I started falling asleep there. You folks really need to find a new record to play.

I would say they could put out a demo of the character creator and the first chunk of the game up til you get to the light house. I know I was hesitant to buy b/c I’m just not into action games.
