The romance quest line not even worth it anymore
48 hours and all you get is a kiss and fade to black... Yeah if this is their new prudish way of doing things it's not even worth flirting lol like wth... Was this game made by prudes or something?. i miss the old romance Sheesh

yeah writers need to draw upon life experience to create scenes and tell stories.

its why you have a wonderful scene with taash and her mom that represents teen angst so well. on the other hand if they lack experience in something they probably won't write it in.

Seriously though, it's quite a downgrade, I liked it when BW didn't give a damn and showed us spicy things like in Mass Effect 1
YESSSSSS get rid of this prude bs bro like give me my reward. like im not asking for a full on sex scene raunchy but this feels like it was written by A RELIGIOUS virgin

I don't think prudish is the reason. If you think about the content of the game, it's very obvious they avoided stuff only some people would see as much as possible. Romances are examples of such content and were clearly deemed not worth bothering with. Another example is carry over from previous games that could lead to different world states and hence different content depending upon said decisions.

You'd think with all the woke yelling, it would have more saucy stuff, gay couples etc, but all it has is a handful on non binary and trans characters.

They've done it before, but this game went the very "safe" route.
It's like they're afraid of upsetting players or the wrong group of people and play it safe by just having the implication that something might have happened, or just didn't want to bother actually animating it, or didn't find it important enough to pursue anything after.
What a joke.

Then again, it was planned to be an "as a service" game, so it explains why the game feels so "sterile".

So, the game is not so woke because they butchered the romance questline and neutered the sex scenes, and also, they have a character like Taash at the same time.

Got it.
No, my point is there is no gayness in the game besides Harding/Taash. The only thing that's "woke" is the non binary stuff, which is actually very minor. You probably didn't play the game though, like most people who are up in arms about that aspect. BG3 in comparison has a lot of gay npc's, you can date more than one person at the same time, you can have an orgy, you can shag a monster, your can be a vampire's snackbar and become his spawn while he tells you to get on your knees, you can shag a druid in bear form, if you play male Durge you were with Gortash at one point, and so on.

Gotta admit, the romances, and lack of Greatswords, are the only two things this game got wrong for me...was plenty of laughter and sadness in the story for me

I don't know guys. Have you seen Emmerich? I feel like this is a skill issue. Would I love more scenes like Baldur's Gate? Sure. But I can not deny that the romantic and sexual tension is high with some of the companions.

The same people that will call you an inkwell are also the same people not having romantic experience to draw from when they write/make these games. Ironic isnt it?

We literally got to have a threesome with a RELIGIOUS virgin in the first game. How the mighty have fallen.

My guess is they wanted to avoid the typical "trope" of "The Male Gaze" which effectively means they didn't want to implement the old adage of "Sex sells".

Mass Effect 1 was released almost 20 years ago and that game had more sex/nudity and "romance" than this game does.

I'm kind of at a loss as to what got them the M rating.
