Lol I didn't think that about her, but I did think it about a few other characters. So it makes sense some people saw it with other characters.
One of the characters helping Neve gave me weird vibes the whole game, then they ended up just being a normal, harmless person. I was so baffled by it.
Like... it's a trope. I found it horribly misplaced as well, but you can clearly see what the intention there was, as far as i'm concerned.
I just filed that under 'yeah, that was dumb', and moved on : D
No, you aren´t.
Especially considering that alot or people she knew and grew up with are dead or got killed in front of her eyes and she treats it like some form of adventure, even has the time to be sassy about it
What trope? I thought the intention was to portray a strong and independent child that doesn´t afraid of anything.
To me the reverse would have been an easy homerun, use a child character to show fear and elicit sympathy in the player, really hitting home how terrifying the darkspawn actually are. Instead we get this odd thing and I´m like huh???
I meant the comment about her being possessed as a joke, though it would be funny and definitely change my opinion on the matter if it could somehow be confirmed 😂
Well, that's kinda the trope.
Think Stranger Things, the Goonies, Monster Squad, Over the Garden Wall etc.
It's less about 'strong independent', but fear being vastly outmatched by a sense of adventure and lack of grasping the actual scope of danger, to put it simply.
It's a whole genre of cool stories, but in this case it's a tonal clash since Veilguard wasn't, up to this point, this kind of story.
But you can clearly see the inspiration for Mila.
And don't get me wrong, it's a very, very poor attempt, as far as I'm concerned.
Her being a spirit of Compassion staying with the Blacksmith since he has lost everyone else and that explaining why she's so fearless in face of danger and guiding / helping you would be a vastly superior story beat : )
