Only Low Settings are playable after update
Pretty much the title. I had about 30 hours of smooth game time, playing on High settings, it was pretty enjoyable performance wise.

I return some days later to a patch update, and the game is stuttering ever since. Random drops to 20 FPS mid combat, cinematics, or just walking. I updated my drivers, tried some mumbo-jumbo I read on reddit though in fairness the PC and the game functioned correctly up until the "update". So the only thing that fixed is to set absolutely everything to low. That is a very feels-bad solution. Devs, do better.

literally been playing and just finished the game with all settings maxed at 4k and never had frames drop below 120. sounds like either you need to update your drivers or verify and potential reinstall. Mind if i ask you pc specs

I'm having the same issue.

i7 11800H (laptop)
RTX 3060
32gb RAM
1TB nvme

I do have an external monitor hooked up (via DP 1.4) which I normally run at native 3440x1440 but with Veilguard I have to run low settings in 1080p windowed mode in order to get a stable 30fps.

I know my system is sub-oiptimal, and I'm expecting too much from it while running the OLED monitor, but I'm not having this problem with my other games, and this has only been an issue since the patch (Patch 1). Tried verifying local files. Updated to latest nVidia game-ready drivers.

Edit: I should also note that most of the performance drops are in Arlathan. As well, when monitoring system usage my CPU is at 100% most of the time while the GPU sits around 70% or so.

Drivers are all up to date and nothing major happened in between my last two play sessions. I kind of don't want to go through the hoops of diagnosing/reinstalling the game everytime they get the idea to update the game.

It's clear to me that some Graphics setting are way more demanding now than they were before, even if slightly, so i'd rather that they ensure their updates are backwards compatible & not have me turn settings on/off for hours in the hopes of solving my problems.

I had a weird artifacting issue when ever i alt tabbed in the game and reinstalling it fixed it for me, chances are something happened during install and it might just need to be reinstalled
