I like Taash a little less every time I interact with her, and I can't call her out on it
[bold] First scene [ bold]: Taash invites her their mom over for dinner. Taash comes out to Shartan, who is naturally confused as to what non-binary means. Taash blows up at her. When the dialog wheel comes up, Rook is given 4 options, all of which essentially involve agreeing with Taash, none of which allow me to scold Taash for being a hypocrite.

[bold] Second scene [/bold] : Taash is kinkshaming Emmrich while asking for a needle. Apparently, needles are very rare in Thedas. Emmrich is tired of being kinkshamed. Once again, the dialog wheel comes up, and , "Taash you danm hypocrite" isn't one of the options given.

At first I thought The player wasn't supposed to like Taash. However, then I realized the player isn't allowed to criticize Taash either, a little too close to real life...

It's weird how a character can make me miss Sera. Sera was a headache of a companion with terrible ideas and impulsive behaviors, but at least Inquisition allowed me to call her out on her poor behavior.

Rook: You two could still learn things together you´d never find out alone. Emmrich, you clearly find talking about dragons boring.

Taash: What? How? Who doesn´t like dragons?

Rook: Aren´t you curious why Taash likes them as much as you like necromancy?

Emmrich: The question crossed my mind.

Rook: And maybe Emmrich could help demystify magic, Taash.

Taash: Maybe he could share a little. So I know how to deal with walking corpses next time I´m in an old ruin.

This is odd, but it's really Peppa Pig level of writing. When my 4-year old daughter fights with some other child in sandpit, I use the same argumentation to install peace. "Kids, you can play together, maybe you can exchange your doll for his car?"

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I tried playing the game without believing any of the criticism this game received, so that I can have an unbiased experience. I can say, without a reasonable doubt, Taash is way too unlikable and a damn hypocrite. She doesn't like when people misidentify her, or if the way they talk is not to her liking, yet everyone else have to like her? Even though plenty of times she asked Rook to shut up, or criticize/mock other companion. She mocked Emmerich a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Bet she would be incredibly pissed if people call her something she doesn't want.

Also what's with her dialogue and role in the game? During the conversation regarding Solas' regrets, she contributes nothing about the problem except making joke about Solas having sex. Grow the ♥♥♥♥ up. And whats with so many options of dialogue to praise Taash? After we killed the dual dragon, we get the option to contribute the fight to Taash even though all she did was blow a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horn and spew flames? The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Grey Warden went in and tried killing the goddess, where the ♥♥♥♥ was she?

And jesus, thats no way to treat a mother, if you done her storyline.

It seems like she have a 13-year old angsty teenager syndrome thinking they are the main character.

Funnily enough, I tried ruining her approval, somehow failed doing that. Like the game is designed in a way that you can't make her leave the team.

Want a good female character? Remember Jack in ME2? She was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good

I personally ended up liking Taash. I think she was stunted while being controlled by her mother, so she never learned how to express her emotions. You can tell by their relationship that her mother still treats her like a child and she fell into that role. The more she is with Rook, she learns that her outbursts aren't acceptable and even learns to accept other people the way she wants to be accepted.

In the end, I was pleased to have her with me, despite not liking her initially. I do wish they have focused more of her story on her mom and her abilities rather than the other stuff. It would have made it more compelling for people who are reluctant to give her a chance.
