So what is your verdict? Inquisition or Veilguard?
No spoilers as I haven't finished Veilguard yet, but playing Veilguard is making me want to play Inquisition again.

What do you all think? Which is the better game overall? Without spoilers, of course.

I'd say Inquisition. It's opening is clunky, the story takes time to get going, and the ending is just... bleh. But, companions are great, once you hit a certain spot in the game it really picks up and I did feel like I was making decisions at the war table. Also, tresspasser DLC, although not brilliant, does save the ending and makes it a bit more engaging and interesting.
Then again, trespasser DLC is the direct reason we got Veilguard, so make of that what you will.
Also, I get horsies in Inquisition! Purdy ♥♥♥♥♥♥ horsies!

Veilguard has much better combat.

Inquisition is a better game if you factor in the DLCs.

The base game and Veilguard are about equal to one another for their own reasons.

I've sunk 1,000+ hours into the first three games, which feel clunky compared to more modern fare. If anything, this game makes me want to play BG3 since it has actual tactics as opposed to Kingdom Hearts gameplay.

enjoying this very much , how ever miss the open world design of inquisition, how ever im only half way though it so will probably go back to it after Veilguard,
I know i should do it the other way round but i started playing VG and have been enjoying it too much to stop prob going to get close to a 100 hours i think

Inquisition is also a good game :). In my opinion it's worth to play both. Veilguard is going in an other direction of gameplay. its difficult to compare this two games. I would first complete Veilguard. After completing taste the beginning of the series
(1) DA:Origins, (skip DA2 because it's the worst part of the lineup) and than (2) DA:Inquisition.

Inquisition felt more like an RPG. Veilguard feels like an action game with RPG elements. The companions didn't really impress me. They felt very one-dimensional and cliche. However I am really enjoying shredding enemies on my rogue. The combat itself is pretty good on the rogue.

Neither, go play Origins, imo. But if you had to choose one, Inquisition.

nah man just go straight to KOTOR for better tactical experience

I wish someone would remake origins.

It's also an amazing game, I meant go play Origins for it's story, which is the best in the series by far.

I cant go back to Inqs combat after vielguard, Right triger spam is not fun at all lol And ive tried playing orgins again but god that game is a buggy mess holy molly.

Neither.
The lore is solid, but so much has changed from the c-rpg days.

This is not exclusive to Veilguard btw, each subsequent sequel has been gutted of mechanics and dialogue choices, it's like a mirror to Bethesda in this regard.

I'm not even going to say something daft like "it isn't as dark", because even at its darkest, there are grittier games.

That said, Origins will provide some moments that make you ask "how on earth did they get away with that?!".

I like Inquisition, I like Veilguard, I would call both egregious official fan fiction.
Inquisition has stronger gameplay, but it's not saying much.

I want to agree but the idea terrifies me of how badly that would be handled.
Unless they give it to the team who remastered Diablo 2.

Inqusition...felt more life like with deeper meaning of the story & companions & better rpg

Come on, were is the music in the taverns, i saw 1 person playing some lute in a tavern and the rest on the market place recycling DAI music. DAI music, can you imagine They even didn't made any effort for making new music that can be played on streets or in taverns, It feels empty even if it is full of people. I prefer even more playing the old game then going further with my second play, i am so un-intrested in this game. Not used to have that with any of the other DA games.

Love the combat more in Veilguard, like the explorable spaces more. Inq probably gets the nod in all other areas though. Both worth playing.
