I don't understand everyone complaining about Taash
She's not a great character but personally, she wouldn't be the first I'd complain about! Why doe nobody mention the ridiculous Disneymancer, distasteful Isabella or the irritating 6 year old girl in an adult body? Most of the characters are awful in my opinion!

because Taash is literally a subhuman. There are plenty of way to come out yet they choose to disparade their parent and emotionally blackmail their mother into accepting their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without any proper dialogue.

There are no one love a child more than their mother. If this kind of disrespect to the caregivers is what the progressive crowd think the "better" world would look like, then I will gladly be evil and backward.

If disparade=disparage
I quite agree but that doesn't mean the other characters aren't horrible too!

i thought emmerich was the better companion of all. whats makes you not like him.
like i know he does not look like necromancer and is too polite for his role. he feels more like a kindergarten teacher seeking validation than professor. but compared to others he better. but whats your take ?

Haven'#t you seen the Disney-ish scenes in the Necropolis? Have you romanced him? It's hilarious

Sorry to see that DaisyRay got banned after all that

I'm glad she got banned. She was an annoying professional victim. She needs to get therapy and find people who care about her trauma.
You're right, but I felt sorry for her, she just couldn't let it go!

To me the problem with Taash is how poorly the writing of the character is which is at odds with the rest of the game. Sure, other characters have issues but those are fairly standard fantasy cliches we've seen before. Taash's feels so out of place and the writing to jarringly bad that I wouldn't be surprised if they had just brought it an consultant who had no idea what the source material but was brought in simply for the sake of being able to check a box.

Taash's whole schtick is an angsty teen with mommy issues snapping at people not to make assumptions about her. Like, this is amateur fanfic levels of writing here. Lucanis has family issues as well but it's written with much more nuance, skill, and believably. Taash's issues with her identity and her mother feel clumsy and ham-fisted. I can related to Lucanis, a man whose life was pre-determined for him as a child and was never allowed to enjoy the simple joys of life because he was being groomed for success and to carry the reputation of his family on his shoulders. Despite all that responsibility weighing him down he's able to still develop personality and interpersonal skills and not have his personal issues completely dominate his entire identity. I can relate to all of that not because I've experienced the same but because it was deftly done in layers. Whereas Taash's story comes across as sanctimonious in her delivery and I'm constantly bombard real word political activism that doesn't even try and weave itself into the narrative of the story. It's just preachy and at odds with the context of the events the characters find themselves in the game.

Nailed it. I don't care about the rest of it. I'm not a bigot like some folks here. But I do care about the character's writing and this character was just written as a bratty teenager.

That's what most of us "bigots" take issue with aswell. The pronoun BS is just the cherry on top. When we see a character virtue signal about pronouns, then that acts like a red flag for us, signalling to us what quality of writing we can expect from the product. And more often than not the writing ends up exactly what we expect it to be. And so we skip it.

Taash is sanctimonious, juvenile, petulant, needlessly aggressive, and frankly insufferable. And that's well and truly before we even get into how poorly her gender identity is written into and lectured about in the game.

Her character is truly, bafflingly bad.
You've described half of western kids nowadays whose parents kicked them off to colleges because reasons. So she got her head filled up with bunch of nonsense and thus Taash came on her own how her gender is nonbinary. FFS they couldn't even bother to make a unique character but stereotype.

Taash could be a more wel-written character imo. I looked on Reddit her concept art, I thought she would be like a cool big sister. A bit like Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3.

There is no Cullen!

I find none of them atractive. Lucanis was my first choice of romance and even that was way to cute & soft for an assassin with a demon inside of him so that was a bummer for me as well. Davrin got a Max headroom chest that pops into your face, Bellara is to childish, Taash is always looking if she got her pants full of ...., the necromance could have been more scary insted this cartoon face,Nev voice is horrible, sounds like if the voice actor had no intrest in putting some feelings in her voice. I am not intrested in romancing anyone, they are far from my type of characters

Neither do i, its an okay character to me, do i need her on my team? sure, can i not have her in my party 24/7? yes.

Isabella? its because she was THE porn character in past dragon age game, gamers still cant let go of their fap material. Defending it to the grave.

I cannot fathom why anyone at BioWare felt that Taash being written as a socially awkward pre-teen was a good idea or that this was how the LGBTQ+ community needed to be represented. It just comes across as the writer(s) self-inserting their own insecurities into a character rather than writing for the character.

She comes off as a rebellious teenage kid. Her dialogue is cringe. She is poorly written.

I think Taash is written really good. For an obnoxious, hypocrite, rude character. It's not often we get such good writing for JERKS.
Yagger 9 de fev. às 7:34
poorly written character, like the rest of the game
