I have very fond memories of DA:O and I really liked DA2. Currently playing DA:I and it is great.
I am one of those players who use the tactical camera all the time so I will probably miss it a bit in Veilguard but I do enjoy playing the Mass Effect games so I probably be just fine. Not saying that Veilguard will be a carbon copy of Mass Effect in terms of fighting, rather that I have been able to adapt my playstyle to other games so I will be able to do it again. I will miss the tactical camera and switching between companions but I know that I cannot always have every thing I love in a game. I also believe that there is zero chance that they are going back to the old style so it is better to get used to the new version.
Edit. The list of quests she is involved in at least in some way is quite long, but you can look it up here: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Lace_Harding
Hmm.... I would say that it is the little things.
My inquisitor just opened up the swamp-map, I unfortunately forgotten the name, and Harding asked if my inquisitor was afraid of the dead. Inky replied that they were not her favorite type of monster and Harding quipped that she should probably stay out of the water then.
I would say that there are not that many dwarwen women that you get to interact with in DA:I. There is Harding who you get to speak to every time that you open up a new map throughout the game and Dagna who is just lovely later on in Skyhold.
It was a long time since now but I do remember talking to other people on the Bioware Social Network-forum about how we hoped that Harding would return in some capacity in Veilguard. There has been elvhen men and women and Varric is on his third game so it would be fun with a woman and Harding was fun.
I hate all npc merchants for basically never having anything worthwhile to sell in most games which leaves them in the, admittedly important, role of relieving me of my cluttered inventory. Having said that I also wish for merchants to return in The Veilguard, just not as companions.
We can be lost together on this point. I have some vauge memory of Harding talking to the scholar but nothing more than that. Well, with luck I get to see that before Veilguard comes out, still hugging bears in the Hinterlands with my inquisitor.
Right on it, just have to deal with the Elder One sacking Haven first. Well, not quite there but close. So looking forward to having Skyhold again.
What I don't really get is why someone would not be interested in interacting with NPCs when playing a game like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, or Baldur's Gate. Ignoring, or dismissing them as boring, would effectively eliminate a major part of their design. Being interested in gameplay only I feel one would be better off with games that focus on just that.
I'll just wait for Sannro to get to that part so we can be lost together, and then catch up on YouTube so I won't be the only one to be in the dark. :D
Ha ha, that might take a month or two. I will let you know =)
criffyzou I see that you have Zerlinda from DA:O as a favorite minor npc. I don't remember a thing because it has been such a long time since I last played that game but I recognize the name so I know that I have heard of her before. I will ponder it for a bit and get back to you =)
