Uhhh ok what made her a fan favorite as you claimed? As you said it's a minor role and she only existed in the intro stage, I finished this ages ago and I remember almost everyone in your party or any memorable npc but what does she do that is so favorable?
Nothing special I would say, but from what I've read people would have liked to spend more time with her because she was a fun character. That pretty much sums up how I feel about it too. So I think it's a great idea to have her as a companion in the next installment and have the chance to get to know the character better.

I loved Origins as well but I also loved inquisition. I liked dragon age 2 but not as much as the others.

Inquisition sold better than the other dragon age games and won game of the year so they are not going to revert back to the old combat of origins. I loved origins but the combat is outdated today.

I feel like the mass effect style combat that is faster will do better in the gaming market today than the combat in the origins game.

I understand wanting the old first game Origins back, but it simply will not happen because games improve and change over the years.

If the story in The Veilguard is good, then I think the game will do just fine. Also, if it is polished with few bugs and runs well that will also help. The fact that the Veilguard is completely playable offline and does not require EA account is a major plus to me.

It will not go back to the Origins game no matter how much many people want it too.
Like I said, I am a huge fan of Origins but I also realize that the games change over time and that they will not release a game with that old combat system. If they did, then people would complain about that.

There are always people who will not be happy no matter what Bioware does, so I say to Bioware, Just release your game because I and many others are excited for it.

I have very fond memories of DA:O and I really liked DA2. Currently playing DA:I and it is great.

I am one of those players who use the tactical camera all the time so I will probably miss it a bit in Veilguard but I do enjoy playing the Mass Effect games so I probably be just fine. Not saying that Veilguard will be a carbon copy of Mass Effect in terms of fighting, rather that I have been able to adapt my playstyle to other games so I will be able to do it again. I will miss the tactical camera and switching between companions but I know that I cannot always have every thing I love in a game. I also believe that there is zero chance that they are going back to the old style so it is better to get used to the new version.

That doesn't make any sense. If she did nothing much and you don't really get to spend time with her what made you decisively claim she's fun character? Do you find those merchant npc or background npc fun as well?
You get to talk to and flirt with her when entering new areas and she is at Skyhold. She is much more fleshed out than a random NPC or a merchant so yes, she does stand out. How could you not see and talk to her?

Edit. The list of quests she is involved in at least in some way is quite long, but you can look it up here: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Lace_Harding

Hmm.... I would say that it is the little things.

My inquisitor just opened up the swamp-map, I unfortunately forgotten the name, and Harding asked if my inquisitor was afraid of the dead. Inky replied that they were not her favorite type of monster and Harding quipped that she should probably stay out of the water then.

I would say that there are not that many dwarwen women that you get to interact with in DA:I. There is Harding who you get to speak to every time that you open up a new map throughout the game and Dagna who is just lovely later on in Skyhold.

It was a long time since now but I do remember talking to other people on the Bioware Social Network-forum about how we hoped that Harding would return in some capacity in Veilguard. There has been elvhen men and women and Varric is on his third game so it would be fun with a woman and Harding was fun.

It makes a lot of sense in my mind. Harding shows up in every new location, that is something like 12 times, each with a bit of dialogue, and as Sannro mentioned she is also stationed at Skyhold where further communication is possible. For me the whole point of wanting her to be more involved is that she did enough to make her interesting, but not enough to have me satisfied with her character progression.

I hate all npc merchants for basically never having anything worthwhile to sell in most games which leaves them in the, admittedly important, role of relieving me of my cluttered inventory. Having said that I also wish for merchants to return in The Veilguard, just not as companions.

Why don't I remember that part despite having just played through the game recently? You're not saying I've missed content are you? You are allowed to lie... :/

We can be lost together on this point. I have some vauge memory of Harding talking to the scholar but nothing more than that. Well, with luck I get to see that before Veilguard comes out, still hugging bears in the Hinterlands with my inquisitor.

Once you've both replayed Jaws of Hakkon you will see my vision !
Though this never panned out since Harding in Veilguard is single and ready to mingle.

Right on it, just have to deal with the Elder One sacking Haven first. Well, not quite there but close. So looking forward to having Skyhold again.

She might as well be a signpost from what you've said. If her involvement only go so far as to be an intro npc to a new area without any other outstanding quality then I can see now how she is so easily forgettable.
Games like these are all about the stories, the small ones being just as important as the overarching big one as far as I am concerned. If you feel different about it and skip these parts or don't pay attention that's fine, everyone should play a game in a way that it's fun for them.

What I don't really get is why someone would not be interested in interacting with NPCs when playing a game like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, or Baldur's Gate. Ignoring, or dismissing them as boring, would effectively eliminate a major part of their design. Being interested in gameplay only I feel one would be better off with games that focus on just that.

There's no way I can play the whole campaign again right away, it took me almost 150 hours on my first playthrough.

I'll just wait for Sannro to get to that part so we can be lost together, and then catch up on YouTube so I won't be the only one to be in the dark. :D

Ha ha, that might take a month or two. I will let you know =)

criffyzou I see that you have Zerlinda from DA:O as a favorite minor npc. I don't remember a thing because it has been such a long time since I last played that game but I recognize the name so I know that I have heard of her before. I will ponder it for a bit and get back to you =)

It looks like it will be trash. I'm desperate for a solid RPG but this will just be another Inquisition, a huge game lacking interesting side quests and with far too much filler crap. It's hard to believe that Bioware once gave us Mass Effect and DA: Origins, genuine masterpieces.

From what i know they swerved from answering if sweet baby inc was involved the same devs that destroyed Suicide squad.
