Dragon Age™: The Veilguard

Dragon Age™: The Veilguard

Vezi statistici:
What class and specialization?
Classes and specializations have been revealed awhile ago and with the game around the corner itll be fun to start building character concepts.
For those who havent seen:

MAGE (FIXED :D)
-Death Caller: uses necromancy magic.
-Spellblade: uses melee attacks infused with magic.
-Evoker: uses elemental fire, ice, and lightning magic

ROGUE
-Duelist: uses two blades for rapid strikes and has the fastest movement of the rogue specializations, focusing on dodges and parries.
-Saboteur: uses traps and tricks to turn the tide of battle.
-Veil Ranger: uses a solely ranged style of combat to hit enemies from afar with a bow.

WARRIOR
-Champion: uses weapon and shield, focusing on tactical defense and tanking hits from enemies.
-Reaper: uses night blades to steal health from foes, risking death to gain supernatural abilities.
-Slayer: uses two-handed weapons for simple but strong attacks that have increased damage.

So, just as I assumed...still no support classes or healing magic. This irks me to no end because Dragon Age could be so gd amazing...but just have a whole party of DPS and use potions.
How in the hell is that fun to anyone? Dragon Age Origins is and will always (apparently) be the only DA game worth playing.
Why would you base your assumptions on a single forum post listing the classes without any further context?

There appears to be a good balance between approachability for players who will be newer to the franchise, while also providing deep RPG systems for more hardcore players. Healing items are placed around the world for players to replenish their health when they need it, but as per fan request, Veilguard includes healing magic mechanics as well. Players will be able to outfit companion characters with these abilities to build them out as a support class, if they choose.

I always end up playing a rouge or a mage, I just feel comfortable playing these two classes so I will most likely do that for my first PT. However the necromancy warrior sounds so interesting so I might just give that a shot later on.

I will read on the forums and listen to what people enjoy when playing other classes or factions and take it from there. It will be fun.

Have you tested tried warrior in DA2? Feels very rogue like!

i just didnt see anything that sounded like they would be and honestly kinda assumed once they took it out in Inquisition it would continue that way. Glad to be wrong.

Rogue, and likely Veil Ranger. I thought Inquisition really improved the bow gameplay and I have a good feeling Veilguard will be even better.

In that case I'm glad to have pointed out you were wrong. :)

I dunno, I dunno.

Well OK I've never particularly enjoyed having main character Warriors in Dragon Age, so probably not that.

I love playing a melee Rogue in Origins, but I love playing a Mage in DA:2 and DA:I.

But on both of the above two games I made my first character a Rogue, so I guess I should stick with tradition and do the same here.

My main concern is it's going to be one of those combat playstyles that relies heavily on twitch reflexes, and constantly bouncing around, jumping, rolling and evading attacks, which I am crap at - which is why I like Elden Ring, but absolutely suck at it.

No I haven't. I might ask the forum for suggestions later for a second or a third PT of Veilguard.
I'm not sure. In DA:0, Mage (particularly Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage) was by far the strongest class. In DA:2 it changed to Rogue (since spike damage was the most important thing in that game). In DA:I it was back to Mage with Knight Enchanter. In keeping with DA's history, either Spellblade or Duelist will probably end up the strongest spec. Given how Bioware's melee gameplay evolved in Anthem, I might be leaning towards Duelist. One thing that seems certain given DA's history, Warriors will be the weakest class.
I've been working on my charater concepts. Currently my two favorites are both elves @.@. A crow spellbade or a shadow dragon duelist. I've always loved classes that are about being quick after all. Quick and pretty squishy, or a somewhat tanky healer have always been my playstyle prefernces.
