All the characters were great but he just stands above all.
To bad I could never romance him.
A remarkable aspect of his character simply erased.
So, personally, I'm quite glad they've put him out to pasture instead of poisoning his character with the current ideological trend.
As a straight white male who never romanced him on any playthrough, I must agree.
He was my best bro in Inquisition, like Varric was to my Hawke. Almost always in my party and fun to have around.
I would be really shocked if he did not make an appearance in DAVG.
Of course I want to see him in DAV. He'll be a cameo or a mention at best, not a companion or true NPC, but I still want to see him at least acknowledged.
A few hours ago I hit the scene where you first meet Dorian. Forgot how awesome he was right from the start. "What? No applause?"
My wife wandered by during the scene and is now cursing me because it looked so good it made her want to replay her Dorian romance run.
Dorian definitely numbers among one of the best, most compelling videogame characters ever created, and this is mostly down to the absolutely stellar voice acting by Ramon Tikaram (he's equally amazing in his brief Elden Ring appearance as the castle boss too).
I'd be very disappointed if he didn't show up in Veilguard.
