Veilguard Factions - Which one would you pick for your first PT
https://www.tumblr.com/felassan/753003765921153024/dragon-age-the-veilguard-meet-the-factions

"Major players on the stage of Thedas, any of these factions could prove useful allies throughout your story. Your faction choice will influence your Rook’s backstory, conversation options, and potentially the balance of power on this divided continent."

Grey Wardens

Veil Jumpers

Shadow Dragons

Lords of Fortune

The Mourn Watch

Antivan Crows

Haven't quite decided yet myself. Shadow Dragons if I play a rouge or Veil Jumpers if I play a mage. It will be interesting to have a "fun" organization tied to magick since they of ten have the Circle or templars or other things like that. We will see what happens.

Grey Wardens = hard snooze. Yes, the blight is returning in Veilguard in some way, but we've been there and done that before.

Veil Jumpers = don't know much about them. Wouldn't mind reading more.

Shadow Dragons = We're running around an empire full of slaves, so this seems like an easy pick.

Lords of Fortune = don't know much about them. Wouldn't mind reading more.

Mourn Watch = actually started reading Tevinter Nights and there's a fun short story about the Mourn Watch. I don't think something so niche needs two characters (one of your companions is from there).

Crows = snooze. It just screams DA:O's original love of Game of Thrones.

Won't make a decision until I see how background shapes gameplay -- there may be specific abilities or powers that tip the scales for me. Like giving Warriors the templar specialization in DA:I was a gamechanger for closing down rift spawns with a dispel. If any faction unlocks something super useful, that's where I'll go.

I am really looking forward to getting to know the necromancer Emmrich and his assistant Manfred. That is something that I could see myself doing for a second PT when I know more. What kind of character would I like to play in order to pal around with the necromancer.

I would like to play veilguard, I just have to see how well they work for a rouge with bow and arrows. If it suits a mage better or if I feel like it works for everyone.

Love me some Grey Wardens... especially if the Hero of the first game manages to find a cure.
Shadow Dragons sound really cool.

But I really would need to find out more about each faction.

Antivan Crows, have to read much into the other "new" factions though

Probably Veil Jumpers or Shadow Dragons. I tend to play mages, and don't think I've ever sided with slavers in any game. Except in Tyranny, but then again there are really no good guys in that game.

If the gameplay bonus of factions is simply "more damage against <enemy type>", I might have to create my Rook first and see what clicks instead.

Well...

Thinking back to Dragon Age Inquisiton your character got a few extra options in certain conversations and I'm guessing that it is something like that.

Honestly it has been such a long time since I played DAI that I don't remember how much your characters background influenced the game but I'm guessing that it is more of a flavor or something special every now and then.

Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
will always pick grey warden. i will be role playing has the hero of foreldan with Morgans help found a cure faked my death and changed my name to rook

I unlocked "nobility knowledge" recently on my inquisitor. I has not been useful yet but I've only left the Starter area once and it is a long game so I did not really expect to see much of it yet.

Wonder how much of a difference it will make in Veilguard if you are veil jumper or if you choose to go with the necromancers. Time will tell.
