[Spoiler waring!] What happend to the other elven gods?

I finished the game and I have a question and I´m pretty sure no one said anything about it in the game but I can be wrong.
In the end game you find out that you can´t kill the last god because the veil is basically powered by all the elven gods and now there´s only one left. But why was it only does two to beginn with? What happend to the others? Did they die of old age because their archdemon got killed from the blights before or was it because of something else?

I know of Mythal of course but she wasn´t in the veil to beginn with, I only mean of those who were in the veil.

The other elven gods are dead. I’m assuming since their immortality was tied tomato their individual dragons and their dragons died in the preceding blights they passed away from old age or the blight.

From the Q&A on Reddit from the developers, some of them are still 'alive' and trapped in the prison Solas put them in because over the years the Grey Wardens where killing the Archdemons belonging to them. It had a feedback affect and it mutilated their souls. So they are still there but not the same. If they are a threat or not. Who knows. If only Bioware focused on the quality of the story they were telling and gave this game more polish it might have been interesting to see where it could have gone.

So do I understand it correctly, some of them are still there but not in good shape that´s why they can´t keep the veil strong enough and as soon as we kill Elgan´nan the veil breaks?

Yeah in my opinion they could have worked on it another year and more story related stuff in it before release. But well

Sad thing is the developers answered it as a question put to them by a player in the q&a so they really didn't go into details on how it would work. Considering most are gone now, if they ever did do a Dragon age 5, it be a new team and what was said is likely to be changed or never addressed. But for now that is all we have to go on.
