I know this game didn't sell well but were there any actual figures released?

Never cos they were so bad they had to use different word...

So they presented engagement to shareholders instead of sales cos that had a bigger number and it didn't look a complete disaster.

They did that cos they could bundle up all sorts of numbers in that, where in sales you can't do that without lying.

To shareholders you always want to make it sound as best as possible... But you can't lie so you have to get creative like that.

Funny enough even in that their creativity is lacking, explains why games are failing. Lack of creativity in the whole corporation from top to bottom and that is why it dropped close to 20% per share...:)

On february 4 it's gonna be even worse where they disclose full earnings for the quarter and no amount of creativity can help with that. lol

It would seem that the game "engaged" 1,5 mil. people, which should mean including those that played the game as part of EA Play. I'd say it's under 1 mil. copies sold.

Over 1 million units sold?
All I am hearing is this game is a certified platinum hit!

It sold less than Dragon Age 2, which was previously seen as a complete flop. It sold so badly that Corinne Bush, the Creative Director of the game, got booted from Bioware.

Dragon Age 2 sold nearly as well as Origins with less budget. It was a flop in the eyes of the players, not actual sales. Origins was somewhere around 4.5mil, DA2 was above 3mil. Considering the era, it wasn't a flop but did worse than Origins.

Context is important DA2 clearly sold well enough to warrant a third game. Not to mention a much shorter dev time compared to origins so the sales may have been better for the short dev cycle. Regardless the series was on a downward spiral since DA2.

I said under, not over. But yeah, apparently it's MASSIVE SUCCESS, gais!

They wanted to sell 1 million more copies than they did, and now they are going to shut down. Finally and maybe a new studio that respect the lore and IP can make another game and make Veilguard not canon.

dream on the ip is dead and even if it wasn't they would never make it good IT's EA they can't make good rpgs...
some 1.5m sold copies. they cover it up with "EA really wanted to sell x amount" its a greedy business, they didnt want to sell 1m or 3m. they wanted to sell as many as possible and the rubric should be scaled on how the previous installments did, not EA's lie cover up.
