is loot somewhat randomized?

Hello all. I'm looking for Twin Palladium rings. I've done some research on the web, and finding somewhat contradictory information about where to find multiple copies.

I think merchants having them is somewhat consistent. But is the loot in chests somewhat randomized?

I'm pretty sure I've done three out of four of those locations, and my ring is only at the 2nd tier...

I don't know if the same chest as the same exact item (obviously respective to your class), but maybe they are random within the chests that those types of gear will show up in. As in, accessories never come out of huge chests: always the small ones. So it maybe randomized within those small chests. Maybe they're randomized with those chests within a specific map. Maybe you'll always find the Twin Palladium rings in those map locations but not always in those chests. No idea. Or maybe you just miscounted. I don't know.

I'm pretty sure it is.

From what I can tell, there are certain classes of chests, and each class of chest has a different item/currency pool that it can give.

But I think all the unique items have fixed sources.

Thank you both! I went back to the Riven coast chest described on the Wiki to double check if I got that chest, and I did. I also for sure bought the copy from the Lords of Fortune merchant at the arena area.

I for sure haven't done the Sacrifice of Souls mission yet, so that's possible.

The one I'm foggy about is the Hossberg wetlands one. I think I've gotten all the large chests there so far. But the wiki says "small chest on a cliff". Not sure where it is. I looked at a couple of guides online for all chests in Hossberg, but none of them list Twin Palladium as loot in the chests. But maybe because it's a small chest, and I missed it?

I can confirm that I have encountered randomised equipment loot in multiple replays of a specific region for regular loot chests. Not sure if it's the same for all maps and chests, but I'm guessing yes. It seems the unique items are always in the same locations, but I have not confirmed that myself.

I found it! The small chest with the Twin Palladium in the Hossberg Wetlands is on a ledge that you can see from the Swamp Road fast travel point. I think it's not listed in any treasure guides because it's a small chest, not a large one.
