Sadly that's not a bug, it's a feature ... There is no Ranger class in DAV. The Bow is just a secondary weapon of the Rogue you use sometimes for ranged adds, or "activating" ladders. The combat system of DAV is focused on melee combat.
Still that makes it even more hillarous that the mage has the ability to swap to a melee weapon as the only class in the game.

yes ... but dagger/orb for a mage is useless anyhow (in my not so humble opinion) as it effectively reduces your ranged attacks range to almost melee range ... so unless you want to play as a melee mage you are better of with the staff
Not true. I played the entire game with bow as my primary weapon, and rarely used the swords. Even did the veil *ranger* specialization. Most of the time I killed all the enemies before my companions even touched them. The fact that they put the bow on the mouse right-click doesn't make it "secondary", it just makes it faster to switch between weapons when you need it.
