Bioware's situation
Seems like Bioware has less than 100 employees on their staff now, some might think this is deserved and you are right it probably is, guess i was right all along even if I don't like the end result.

To those who want to try/play this slop please wait for a good discount to save your money (90% at least), it will most likely happen eventually if this keeps up, it was free on playstation and many like myself did not even pick it up, not a game that's worth ones time unless you have a lot of free time and nothing else to play maybe not even then in my opinion.

Well Bioware thanks for the first and second Mass Effect's (did not care for the third) :)

Game is quite enjoyable, if you like action RPGs and are not dead set on a new version of Inquisitor. It's a departure from previous games in terms of gameplay and some of the lore detail has been either changed or set aside; but it's a tight, fun experience, well polished and quality of presentation. If you've waited this long, I'd agree with the OP to wait on a sale to pick it up if it isn't already discounted, but I enjoyed it at full price.

From what i saw from the story I do not think I would appreciate it, seems like propaganda mixed with bad fanfiction.
As for gameplay it is mid at most, not the worst I have seen but, far from the best, still not a game I would consider a Dragon Age game, Bioware probably just wanted to boost sales trying to tap an existing fanbase while forgetting that fans usually don't tolerate retcons.

That being said if Bioware did not call this game Dragon Age I believe it would have been less mocked and maybe a little more well received, it still would not save them in sales numbers but they would have sold more and have less backlash (maybe saved them a lot in marketing and whatever they paid the journos to give this a high score).

That being said I still think we will be getting Mass Effect 5 just hope they learned the lesson with this game and the previous Mass Effect because if not that will be another boycot.
The lesson here is know your fanbase.

Fans of these games will never be dissuaded by your lame attempts to influence them. They'll try this game because they enjoyed the previous ones, and they will likely find, as I did, that it's quite an excellent part of the story.

Sorry to say with the current state of Bioware all signs point to no, most of my play group refunded this and the one that did not was because it was a game pass.

You can say it was just 16 sales but i wonder how many times did something like this happened with this game. I guess if Bioware closes after Mass Effect I will be right again, a pity.

Your deeply biased, anecdotal evidence is irrelevant.
I bought it, and I am enjoying it.
I was at a party last night, and had a conversation with a couple who love these games (and were waiting to upgrade their system so they could play it). Dragon Age has been around for a long time now, and there are a lot of loyal fans out there.
You cannot change that fact.

Glad you enjoyed it, can't say the same for many others. Not sure those that enjoyed it are enough to save Bioware in the end.

Indeed and now we find a lot of PS5 players trying out the game and being quite pleased and surprised at the negative reaction. Negative mob mentality is a real thing.

I'll bite - what about it is propaganda?

If you play the game and don't see it I cannot help you, I simply cannot be more blunt than Bioware was.
If you don't play the game there are many youtube channels with the cutscenes, pick one with only the cutscenes so you are not influenced and check for yourself, like I said they are really blunt and thanks to that easy to see and check (full game movie or something like those videos).
Also the character creater is pure propaganda as well if you check their interviews and the praise they gave themselves, but i was already excluding that from my list.

I prefer to not get my opinions from youtubers of all people personally. I have played the game, but I'm trying to understand what propaganda is being pushed???

If you're making the claim, I'm fairly certain the burden of proof falls on you, so would you please tell me what you consider propaganda? What is the character creator pushing of all things???

The OP sounds a bit like a neophyte cultist. Hasn't even read the holy text yet, and is easily baffled by simple questions. So they retreat to the comfort of their leadership for further guidance and instruction.

A culture warrior who has never played the game, sent here by some bigot on YouTube.

... or so it seems to me.

Nah more like just leaving a post here so if/when Bioware gets shut down I can add a plus 1 to the number of times I was right when a company screwed up, it's been growing quite a lot since 2012.

Yeah they really did some bad stuff, simply trying to appeal to a wider audience is so awful!
God forbid anyone except straight white dudes get to enjoy Dragon Age.

Saw the same thing coming since the terrible companion trailler, such a disappointment to be waiting years for this follow only to get a baby's first dragon age and rpg experience.
Killed choice carry over which was the main feature fans invested into over 3 games, so as a fan myself and among others i know as well, haven't touched this disaster.

One bad trailer doesn't mean anything. I hated that trailer as well.
They turned it around completely and released a banger.

A bad trailer when you double down means everything.
Just ask microsoft when they screwed up during the E3 for xbox one how the sales went.
