Question about the final mission (SPOILER)

Hi everyone

I'm about to start the final mission and I'm at the point where I have to choose which companion does what. I know there's a possibility that they die

The question is: can I choose any companion for any task?
I've completed averyone's personal quest, does that impact on the result?

You can choose any, the remaining two will stay with you.

from what I read, that is wrong - if all your npcs are Heroes, all but 1 will survive with "correct assignments

If you mean "the last gambit", the outcomes also depend on the strenght level of the various factions.

But in general no, you can't send anyone at random, since even assuming that you have everyone as hero of the veilguard and all the factions are maxed out, someone could still die (for instance Lucanis if you send him with the Wardens to fight against the massive construct)
