Bioware Edmonton studio, that made Veilguard, is shutting down?
I heard somewhere the whole Edmonton studio is being closed and that game director Corinne Busche has already left Bioware and EA. If this is true, it's not good news for future Dragon Age games or Bioware in general.

It actually is.
Vindication for all of us who had to endure "It sold well, chuds!"

You guys do know that the Edmonton studio is the main Bioware studio right? This means Bioware as a whole will be shutdown.

No. Bioware isn't even its own company for a while now, it was purchased by EA, therefore "Bioware" its just another EA unit now, it just retained its branding for marketing purposes.

But I'm actually surprised that it wasn't shut down sooner considering how EA dealt with previous acquired companies, especially considering Andromeda & Anthem on top of now Veilguard's amazing “success”. I guess Veilguard was the last chance for Edmonton studio, as Mass Effect should be for Austin's.
Corinne Busche barely has any expertise in game development (basically only working on a Sims game according to the LinkedIn profile). Putting someone like that into the position of a director for such a big game of an entirely different genre was sabotaging the game from the get go. I don't want to put the blame entirely on Corinne Busche since there are multiple parties that failed across the entire development team (and EA) but I also do think that this is a perfect example of how DEI hiring rather than hiring on merits is not a good idea.

As for the future of DA: it's probably dead for the forseeable future. But considering what the franchise turned into it's probably for the best

BuT 80k PlAyErS is a success in sales, you gooner are just hating on Abcdf representation and its good writing*

Go choke on a sock. Glad that game director is nowhere near the new Mass Effect, i really hope they learned about these mistakes.

I think you've mistaken me for someone who likes DAV. I said the news isn't good for the future of DA games and Bioware in a general sense not because I'm upset about it.
