My wife is in hysterics because of what you said. If you want to have a serious discussion about cancer survivors, I suggest you approach the subject with more tact. I don't respond to body shaming or the belittling of women.
I wish people could see such things as a more positive way....much better for healing the body and soul anyway.
I'll give it a shot. Before that, though, I want to say that there's no right way to feel about scars. OP's wife's feelings are valid and I hope that, if she plays the game, she can scroll past that option and not have to think about it again.
Just as valid, however, are people who see their scars (chest or otherwise) as proof they've survived something, that they've gone through hardships and come out on the other side despite the odds. People who've had breast surgery might choose to make a character that doesn't have the same scars they do-- and that's totally fair-- but there's other players out there that will appreciate that they don't need to be 'perfect' to exist in games like Veilguard. They can still be the hero and be loved by the characters, scars and all. It can be a safe space that they may or may not be getting in real life. And having that can be lifesaving.
I didn't say that at all, were do you read that? There are more kinds of cancer & all are bad no matter the kind of cancer someone got/had. You read my reply completely negative, but thats okay by me.
I am not into playing a game that is openning so many wounds! (twitter is filled with women sharing their long struggles)
IGN trolling, Bioware torlling, some Youtubers trolling...
The equivalent for men would be to have their familly lucky stars removed (not by choice)! And have that being implemented in the game!
The luducrous argument, that you can ignore it, and pick something else, baffles me!
Bioware does not think far! Sad! Sad and
If I made up a story about my boyfriend losing an arm in combat and being upset by the Inquisitor losing their arm in combat and giving him ptsd, would it feel more genuine?
I have still not had my question answered are these really meant to be scaring froma trans operation or generic medieval scars, as you know the chest would be the place with a huge amount of scaring for a fighter.
Because if it turns out that this is generic scaring, all the people who are crying about it aswell basically look like absolute morons.
But regardless, whilst I could bot give a crap about these I also find the people who are so against them pathetic too.
Even the op here, whilst I have sympathy for his wife, I have a friend who got into a bar fight and was glassed in the face when he was younger. Can he demand that all face scaring is removed from games?
I was left unable to walk for 6 months after a car hit me, can I demand nongames have fast and reckless driving.
End of the days the developers making this game choice to include it to show support and representation for basically the community that they also belong to and I respect that choice.
Equally I also respect a Japanese game not including LBGT representation as it is not there developers wishes.
Maybe you should step away and look into the topic instead of expecting anyone to clue you in. You wouldn't want to look like an absolute moron.
They are classed as "Top surgery scars" https://www.them.us/story/top-surgery-scars-dragon-age-the-veilguard-character-creator
So one question is why in a fantasy world with healing would scars remain.
The OP's concern, whose wife has my full sympathy, does seem to have been a massive oversight here.
Lol so they did this and it is not another anti woke cry wolf. Lol if nothing else you have to admire the stones to do this knowing you lot would f%king lose your collective minds and metaphorically p!ss the bed.
I mean I am sure anyone in the trans community was calling for this but lol, they did it anyhow.
