Yes I also looked this up. That guy didn't really know what he's talking about lol but acted like he's some lore expert.
Kossith are the precursors of the Qunari before the foundation of the Qun, though the term itself has since become outdated.
As in Bioware retconned a bunch of stuff they are no longer comfortable with. Like Sten in Origins imposing the Qunari social values on outsiders. Straight up calling the female Warden a man because she can't possibly be a woman since women are shop keepers and artisans - they don't fight.
That retcon already started with DA2. In Origins the Qun was Kossith only and any Kossith that didn't want to live by the Qun was exiled as Tal Vashoth. But since DA2 anyone can join the Qun and leave as they please. Even Iron Bull became the writers mouthpiece saying "oh yeah, the kossith - we don't talk about them."
