Is this art super ugly for anyone else?
I didnt like dragon age inquisition because of the gameplay, then heard they're making this more CRPG again, but looking at the art it just doesnt look like a good game. Idk it just seems so weird and "off" :theskull:

Just one example I liked. Shows making of a female elf Rook. I loved it. Certainly a lot more attractive than Inquisition's character creation.

I think people forget how hard it is to come up with a good looking character in unmodded Inquisition.
I haven't but here's the thing, it's been a decade since DA:I.

The basic, unedited female character in Fallout 4 is an absolute knockout compared to anything that was presented as "good looking in DA:VG".

I was playing Fallout 4 less than a month ago. That is a blatant lie. You can't create a realistically good looking female character in unmodded Fallout 4. The only recent game that did it well was Cyberpunk. (And maybe BG3 but I haven't played it yet.)

I posted the link under 4 minutes of seeing your comment, but yes, that obviously means it was the prettiest I could find in all existing videos and images.

Also, I would love to live where you do it that's an average looking woman, but I digress.

That girl is mid in just about any real life setting for a woman of her age. She would hardly get a second look if you saw her in your local sports bar.

if you say so. I don't have the experience of dating supermodels like you do, unfortunately. :winter2019sadyul:

Are you sure about that?

I'm old enough to remember how everyone just freaked out when DA2's art style was released. Forums like these were filled with people absolutely sure that it would be the end of BioWare. And now they are using DA2 images to refer to the good old days.

Life has really come full circle.

No one complained about DA2's graphics or art style. They were greatly improved from the first game.

If you consider that as attractive but don't consider the elf as such, I don't know how to talk to you. But that's probably for the best. I wish you all the best finding a good game that let's you create the perfect characters.

Literally everyone did. I've been a Dragon Age fan since the first game came out. I've played each game an unhealthy amount of time. I had frequented gaming forums every time a trailer a came out. And everyone was frustrated with DA2's art style.

You can't prove any of your claims. This one takes the cake... of all the things you could criticize about DA2 and you went for the art style. Unreal.

I mean, I guess we just have wildly different ideas of attractive.

You're not alone, I really dislike this art-style. It looks like Sims in Fantasy world with big heads mod.

It's sadly such big issue that I'm waiting for reviews and discounts for this game if to even bother. It looks like cartoon, not Dragon Age.
Pretty much in the same boat.

I'd also add that the whole cartoonish look makes it look like generic fantasy.

You're right.[fextralife.com]

I can't prove anything.

You really think DA2 art style was better than DAO? The extremely clean looking without any dark vibes.

Absolutely. But before you ask this question you need to be sure you're talking about art style or the difference in graphics as obviously one is much older than the other. Those are entirely different things.

If we ignore the technology gap, the art direction was much more unique, yes, you could tell at a glance that the game was in the Dragon Age series.

Whereas this overly colourful overly sanitized cartoonish look is litterally the same in every generic AAA games of the past 4-5 years.

I didn't say it was my personal opinion. It was how the game was publicly received at the time.
