Every companion is pansexual?
Can't wait for all the companions wanting to f*ck my character. Or having to reject them because modern devs aren't able to write believable friendships anymore.

I hope this trend ends soon.

From what I've seen, you're the one who initiates romance by picking flirt options in dialogue. They will be marked as such. So you should be fine.

We've known each other for 30 minutes and I already seem to be living rent-free in your head. It's not very comfortable in here.

It wokrs same way Baldurs Gate 3 does. You can romance any of your companions.

This is actually why I am asking here. I didn't like how it worked in BG3.

What is the differance between pansexual and bisexual....?

Bisexual means one or more genders, usually men and women.
Since Veilguard introduces the option to be nonbinary, the devs wanted to clarify that they companions are all pansexual (attracted to all genders) to show that they'll be attracted to Rook regardless of gender, including nonbinary.

To be fair, that will be the least of this game's problem. I don't understand why anyone even cares. I've yet to see an RPG do open-ended selectable romance even remotely well. Not even Baldur's Gate 3 comes close. No build up, no or very little reactivity, no fall out outside of a throwaway epilogue card, if even. Barely any influence in quests or story beats even when it makes sense.

It's good they decided to mark the flirty lines, just like in past games. One huge mistake in Baldur's Gate 3 is the fact everyone ends up wanting to get into your pants.

That was only a problem in the release version of the game and considered a mistake. It was patched. If you play now it takes much more work and you have to flirt with them.

It was only considered a mistake after everyone started complaining about it loudly and consistently.
Before that it was working as intended, you bigots.

Dragon Age 2, was one of the first games where everyone was pansexual. I actually prefer the term hero-sexual, because a lot of the time the characters are written with a set sexuality, they're just willing to cast that aside for the PC. Love it or hate it, it has a history in the franchise. It's kind of late to be complaining about it now.

People misuse pansexual a lot these days. Automatically adapting to your preferences is not being pansexual. It has to be explicit. So if a character simply adapts to whatever YOUR preferences are, it is not theirs. That makes them straight or gay mostly, depending on your relationship with them.

That is very different from a character themselves telling you they're gay, straight, bi, whatever. I also prefer this because it adds character to the, well, character. It's fine if I can't romance them, that's the way it is in life and I like that mimicked and can respect that. What we should do is have more platonic intimate friendship paths for people you can't or don't want to romance but like anyway.

And being pansexual means you have no preferences and is less about the modern day gender discussion (or at least it used to be) and more about you being equally interested in the goblin, elf, dragonborn, and centaur in your team as the other human.

The modern use of the term is very, very recent.

I think it's the same even in Fallout 4.. which sucks.
Companions and NPC should have their own orientation. It's a bit ridiculous when in a game EVERYONE is up for grabs.
Pink Eye Sep 21, 2024 @ 4:19am
Nah they're not pansexuals, it's even worse, they're *player*sexual - meaning their preferences is based solely on what your character is, which is just lazy writing that doesn't add flavor or dimension to the depth of the companion.

There is simply a roughly equal number of people who want all characters to be fair game and those who don't.
The people who complain about a realistic sexuality are a tiny tiny tiny minority though.
Your comparison is inapt.

You're straight up lying.
