It was pretty mediocre and forgettable story wise. Some of the characterisation stuff made no real sense to me.
I would say the general consensus is that it was just mediocre but watchable. An OK show but I'm not excited about it moving forward.
I loved her look when her jaw dropped when the man she had a crush on got full on smooched by the dwarf. Classic. I think it was both part like "Oh man! Why him!?" and "Well damn about time!" Qwydion was my favorite of the bunch. Miriam and her I think could hook up, but I think they are more besties then romance compatible.
She also had some of the best liners or retorts about hearing the dwarf's betrayal. Yeah, it would have been great to have her as an option to romance or at the very least meet. We may yet, because that group was hunting down Miriam's ex.
Qwydion was definitely the best thing about the show (Ashly Burch should be in every video game and animated series forever) and I was likewise super bummed she wouldn’t be a companion.
I actually enjoyed the reluctant hero in this case. Sure the trope can be tired but it suits Teventer. Better yet if they do end up making more Miriam is pretty invested in her role now.
As for the elven rogue issue, I to end up favoring elven rogues in game play when possible and can see the point. I also see how it fits very well in the story they were trying to tell. If the writing had been tighter and the cast had felt a bit more ensemble (which I think would have been better all around rather than really having a main lead) it would have been a superb choice for Miriam to be exactly what she is. As it stands I feel like she just as easily could have been a mage or warrior with it only really costing her the assassin bit. Heck, swap her and her brother's class related roles and that's a couple complaints down.
In summary I find the show really enjoyable for the time I can turn my brain off but once it comes back online there are some pretty significant flaws.
But romancable Qwydion would be even better. And yes more Ashly Burch is always welcome.
