Is doing woke stuff mandatory to complete the game?

Depends what you mean by woke stuff and mandatory.

You will presumably need to select your preferred pronouns as part of character creation (not sure if there is a default option, or if you will definitely need to actively choose). After that, you can decide whether to make your character cis and straight as an arrow if you so choose.

You will encounter some characters who are non-white and a handful of characters who are not straight (and at least one minor character who is trans).

You probably do meed to interact with most of these characters to progress, but you certainly do not need to interact with them romantically.

So you will need to decide if that is within your tolerance level.

When it comes to woke games, as general rule of thumb, you will be forced to interact with the woke content, that's kind of the point of it being there. It is social engineering after all.

I personally wouldn't give them any money just for putting it in there but that's just me. You might at very least want to wait to see what the reviews say, if this makes or breaks it for you.

Given some of the ridiculous furor out there in the dark corners of the internet, he could be forgiven for thinking that the main quest would require him to raw dog Solas while drinking a soy latte through a paper straw.

Assuming that your asking out of good faith probably. Dragon Age and Mass effect have pretty obvious lines about flirting with other characters. We don't know what kind of NPC's will be in the game though.

Now, now.. Any of you remember some outrage after Origins when the innocent players went to Zevran's tent for a friendly massage and instead were forced to do unthinkable things with him? They are probably traumatized to this day. OP is right to be concerned.

ps if OP is serious - my advise - do not skip the dialogue. There is always an option NOT to do something.
