The echo chamber of negativity
Feels like currently two reviews have made an echo chamber online. Even a bunch of good reviews no one trust but everyone trust two reviews from just two YouTubers. Currently you have all these all other YouTubers chiming in and talking mad ♥♥♥♥ like they played the game already. Just want to point out clearly we are in a time where people just like to take the negative and run with it, it’s a uncanny echo chamber and I’m hoping it will stop once the game launches this week. Do I except everyone to love, definitely not. But I hate how everyone is putting down peoples excitement for a game. I’m still super excited for when I finally get to play this game, not sure when maybe later around the holidays! I hope everyone can still be positive and have an open mind with good dialogue.

They have to keep their narrative up

Just like they did all the way back to dao or jade empire

people shouldnt trust reviews regardless if they are good or bad. if you are on the fence, wait until the game is out and watch some gameplay.

OP did you just discover human nature by chance?

1) Part of the problem IS EA cherry picking who to give review codes to. And I'm not talking not giving codes to some no name with 5 followers, I'm talking major sites with lots of followers just because those sides don't give out 10 out of 10s very often and seemed mildly critical at the preview event. And those are just the people who went to the preview, not people who didn't even make it that far.

2) EA gathered up this "Dragon Age Council" of people on social media with large followings, and had them act as advisors to Bioware. So they have now have stakes in the game because they worked on it and spoke with members of the DA:V team, etc.

You don't review stuff you've personally worked on. Even if it were actually the Mona Lisa to objective viewers, you still don't review your own stuff. It's massively unethical and shady behavior.

And SOME (not all) have done this, increasing the number of positive videos.

They could have done some form of publicity if they wanted. Nothing unethical to hype a project they worked on. But they should NOT have reviewed it.

That ending sucked so bad.

It must really upset you that the playtester testimony proved to be 100% accurate in their claims.

I wasn't aware that dao was considered a controversial release for the company. most people liked it. it was my first rpg back when I was a wee kid with a ps3 but maybe I missed something.

as for vg I honestly want to play a good game but the glaring issues with this game can't be ignored unless you live under a rock.

but with that said if you want to enjoy the game and think you will like it then by all means shove me into the same drawer as the anti-woke brigade.

I’m good, just trying to keep up the good spirit. Just tired of looking everywhere and seeing hate mobs.

Echo chamber or not, the writing seems like it is made for small children.

DA:O had a truly awful trailer, for one.

BioWare's marketing team has never been top tier so far as I can tell.

Yup just by chance tho

You do realise most of the positivity is its own echo chamber? The bulk of the reviews are owned by newscorp.
Ronin Gamer Oct 29, 2024 @ 11:39am
Actually read the site reviews and you'll find similar pieces discussed in those two videos you are referencing, and there are more than just two.
Also can we drop the confirmation bias dumb crap? People love to rag on these websites until they give a glowing review to a game you actually want, then they are the holiest place on the planet and anyone that has a differing opinion for any reason is the **** pile......until the opposite occurs and the circle continues to spin.
Opinions are just opinions. They don't mean anything. They are literally just to help you make a more informed purchasing decision for a product you are considering. It's not gospel.

Don't trust negative reviews. It's a true
return to form
for Bioware.

I was a small kid back then. I remember picking it up from a general store, playing it and hiding it from my parents haha. I had to cut out a 12yo usk sticker and slap it on the case, so my parents wouldn't assume it was for grown ups.

I had no idea the marketing was this bad.
