Veilguard or BG3?
Which one is more woke?
My vote goes to bg3.

BG3 is barely woke.

I mean sure, there is an illogical amount of female leaders and commanders compared to male ones, as well as LGBT being peppered here and there, but it's not slapping you in the face with it.

Larian seems like it tried to placate the colorfully haired Karens on social media so they shut up about it, rather than making The Message the point of the game like Bioware is doing with Veilguard.

Wow, that’s a severe case of denial if I’ve ever seen one (and I’ve seen plenty with you hypocrites).

At least B3 has good mechanics to make the bear stuff tolerable.

Also the bear at least reminds me of Bergkamp

Which game allows you to do evil stuff? Which game removed Blood Magic? Which game lets you kill your own companions? (bye astarion!) Which game tells you that your choices support someones multicultural blah blahs? Which game gives you actual freedom to CHOOSE and which is a linear hallway of force fed narrative?

I win.

And yet you bought Veilguard. Was it out of masochism or just ignorance?

Barely woke you say? LOL

More than half the population in the city of Baldur's Gate are gay or unhuman, including the the farmer (white man) at the entrance of Baldur's Gate who is gay.

Boss of chapter 2 is a White Male villain who became a villain because he was against her daughter dating a female angel of his god, who by the way, for an angel, has a mouth of a prostitute.

When that villain dies, she and that angel just don't show any remorse and go have their long due lesbian sex.

If this is 'BARELY' I dare not imagine what a 'MODERATE' woke would be.

Hopefully that happens after I'm dead, because it is end of human civilization!

How deep did you look into the story to notice all the NPC gayness? LMAO.

Also, Ketheric Thorm became a villain because his wife got sick and died, and then his daughter died too, so he felt betrayed by Selune, and turned to Shar, who in turn ordered him to purge the selunites, Shar being an evil goddess and all, but then he found Myrkul, who promised he would return his daughter to life in exchange for his service, and Myrkul kept his promise.

While he disapproved of the relationship of his daughter with the aasimar, it wasn't the reason he became a villain, his daughter's death was the reason.

I mean...You have top surgery scars as a slider in this game (VG) I think. So...Idk. I also heard they created a very tame party dynamic and every gets along pretty well in VG. In BG3 you have multiple instances of preventing your party members from mercing one another.

I wouldn't even describe the game (VG) as woke. I would describe it as a game laying the foundation for younger gamers. I just don't see the sweaty dudes/kids (I mean folks like me/kids like me when I was younger) really enjoying it. Could be wrong though. Idk.

Wow, reality bending powers and denial is strong in that one.

Why cant you just admit that you like woke game?
It would be easier for you :)

Unknown 9 also "laid down the foundation for younger gamers", and so did Dustborn, Star Wars: Outlaws and Forspoken, all bombs. Do you know why? Because despite age, the vast majority of audiences have always been interested in the same things and will always be interested in the same things: badass men, hot women, and badass hot women.

Thinking you can do better by giving audiences things that they don't want to see, will always create a bomb.

I am not really worried about it. Underdogs will rise and supplant the large developer teams. It is just a matter of time. Predatory practices only work for so long. Just look at evolutionary theory. After awhile consumers will become resilient.

At the end of the day consumers need to pay the market value of content that provides high grade entertainment and developers need to achieve an acceptable standard of that content at varying price points. It is always a tug of war with consumers and producers.

So I'd say BG3 wins for now.
