Edit, I misread this post lmao
If you feel specifically like a transperson, then you're just using it like a fad. You're not actually different, you just want to feel like you are. That's not something we should be encouraging, so it bothers me when I see this stuff in games.
I keep casting healing magic but the mastectomy scars wont go away. This blatant anti-caster propaganda belittles my identity as a mage. Do better, bioware.
Or maybe a trans person could find the representation cathartic. Or maybe a cis person could play a trans character and be given an example of what it's like to be trans. I don't know any trans person that wants transness to be hidden.
I cannot fathom caring about this that much - just don't pick the trans option
You don't ♥♥♥♥ about me or the other trans people I know, so I suggest you stop right there.
Ask an actual trans person, every single one of them will tell you they don't want 'trans' to be their personality, and would rather you just talk to them like a person.
To quote: 'I'm not a 'trans woman', I'm a woman. Why would I try to identify with something that's brought me so much pain?'
Obviously we don't want being trans to be our whole personality, but there's a vast difference between that and wanting stories about being trans out in the wild for people to experience and, hopefully, learn from.
Incels on a steam discussion boards =/= the majority. Only time will tell how well the game sells. Cyberpunk did just fine.
The people who specifically identify as "trans" are just doing it because it's trendy right now. It's not trendy, it's a legitimate condition. There's a difference between accepting differences and glorifying them, and this type of thing is firmly the latter.
