They retconned that lore back in Inquisition. You are 10 years too late to the outrage.

So now you are saying a man is mentally ill if he wants characters he enjoys looking at?

No, but demanding that all he looks at must be sexually arousing is, in fact, a sign of mental illness.

"The World Health Organization added compulsive sexual behavior as a mental health disorder in 2018. Although it doesn’t single out a pornography (or any other) addiction, it does refer to repetitive sexual activities becoming a central focus of a person’s life to the point that they neglect their “health and personal care or other interests, activities, and responsibilities.”

And there is not a thing you can do about it.

Why would I want to do anything about it? It's your problem. I'm fine with my media being without 'sexy women'. I'm not throwing a fit here.

And no it wasn´t pandering, it was selling to the biggest audience.

There has been no statistical analysis of who the biggest audience of the franchise is, so your claim is unfounded. And even if it was the case, making your product more appealing to a single section of the population for profit is textbook pandering. The fact that section is a majority doesn't change the meaning of the word.

", it does refer to repetitive sexual activities becoming a central focus of a person’s life to the point that they neglect their “health and personal care or other interests, activities, and responsibilities.”
Then I don´t have a porn addiction.
Guess bioware just does not make games for me anymore.
I´ll give my money to some other company that do then.

I mean you are literally demanding that your interests and activities all include 'sexy women', but sure. Whatever helps you to live in denial.

yes but you posted the criteria, I don´t meet them.
But it´s great you establish the inclusions of trans and non binary characters must mean the exclusion of attractive female characters.

I did not post the criteria. You did yourself. Do you want me to look up the replies and quote your post where you asked for 'sexy women'?

I also don't think including trans and non-binary characters mean exclusion of attractive women. I actually find quite a few characters in Veilguard really attractive.

Non-binary I kind of agree, but then again they do use English as the main language, so they/them is a normal use of said language. I guess they could have invented a completely new term for those miniscule parts of otherwise large game where non-binary even appears, but what would be the point when a perfectly good word already exists?

Wondering how this is going to work in localized versions.

In german "non binary" would be "nonbinär", other languages likely have their own localised versions of it.

What we got in Veilguard is pretty awful.

Beauty is subjective. I find many characters in Veilguard really attractive, even more so than my romance options in Inquisition.

Comedy gold. Please come visit the forums when the game releases. Please.

I've been in every Dragon Age forum since 2009. I was there in 2014 when people were celebrating the death of BioWare because of Inquisition being 'woke'. So don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

Damn, you must have very low standards then.
Veilguard has some of the ugliest characters I've ever seen.

Like I said, subjective.

Nah. I can play a game even if I don't find characters 'sexy', unlike you.

Good, because this will be the last DA i'd bet.

As I said, I've been hearing this since 2014. But I'm sure you're right this time.

I wouldn't say it's fourth wall breaking, but it seems like lazy writing from what I've seen. What are the chances that characters in a fantasy world would come up with the exact same terms ("non-binary", "they-slash-them") that we use?
This fits well within games like "Tell Me Why" (which I liked a lot), because despite fantastical elements it's still set in our world.

You are fine with a fantasy word using English, but when it comes to them using English words, that's where you draw the line?

I'm not drawing a line, I just think it's lazy writing. As I said, what are the chances? I've no issues with these kind of topics, and Bioware has been known for content that involve sexuality in their games. They also used to be known for good writing, and this isn't it.

For the descriptive, sure, but what about the pronouns? Can't imagine how that would work in french.

In german they've invented a new gender neutral pronoun I've never heard of before for the translation. Instead of "der/die/das" they now use "hen". :chokeychicken: Don't ask me why.
