What is the game actually about?
So i didn't know this was coming out and saw the launch trailer and saw Solas and that scout harding will be in the game, saw that the blight is back but what is the game actually about story wise? Is this the sequel to inquisition or is it completely unrelated cause the main steam page doesn't have any detail on it about what the games story is about.

no this is a soft reboot, the director has said. the focus will not be on solas or the main antagonist of the game but establishing the new characters. Also Solas has been put on the back burner and is not going to be a focus.

This game is basically about two old elven gods returning and it's rook and the squads job to save the day.

Solas put up the veil.

Solas is doing something with he veil.

A rip opens in the veil, and two gods he was trying to lock away come out.

One of them is the mother of monsters.

The other, I think, is the son of the king of gods.

And Bioware is chucking all the previous DA games into the garbage. So take that as you like.

Im kinda sad its not a continuation of the Solas's story from inquisition and its DLC, but the return of elven gods and the return blight sounds kinda cool, i guess ill just have to see for myself when it comes out, thanks!

It all depends on how the handled it. Solas should have been the main Antagonist but the other two elven gods could have been minor. Finish solas story then You can do a soft reboot and make a new trilogy

Nah the "soft reboot" line and Solas being put on the back burner are heavily exaggerated, this game absolutely is a continuation of Solas' story, there's just a lot of other plot points going on too. The game was even named after Solas until earlier this year lol, it's safe to say he's an integral part even if they wanted to emphasize other elements of the game.

IT was named after him because the focus was going to be to stop solas they even wanted to make it a live service which was weird. When that didn't work they wanted to change the store and focus on new characters. The directors even said its not about solas but Rook and his new companions. part of the reason they are not using keep because solas story and our journey from the last ten years does not matter

Well, it is a continuation of Solas's story. The thing is, during the ritual to tear down the Veil, two other elven Gods got loose (he mentions them at the end of Trespasser).

We have seen that those two elven Gods will be the main antagonists during the narrative, but it has also been said that Solas is "still very present" in the game.
Of course he will be present but there will be no progression of his story. It has been said they he will come back in the end and we will be left on a another cliffhanger. But we will wait and see when the game comes out

So dreadwolf isn't a thing anymore i take it, but turned into this game. I'm going to check it out either way it looks interesting at least.

Indeed, it was renamed around the same time the first trailer dropped back in early summer. While Solas has been stated to be a major part of the game, the devs said that they stepped back and realized it made more sense to name it after the heroes rather than the villain (?).

I’m not sure, remains to be seen how relevant Solas will be. I’m hoping he’s not necessarily an antagonist, but a sort of uncertain potential ally with his own motives.

Nope. They revealed the original name after the live service bits were dropped, the two had nothing to do with each other. Devs have still said Solas is very important and in fact multiple of the very few past game choices we can make in Veilguard involve him.

It's about a game world build of some guy jealous of another writer's ability, managing to create a cult classic, and being incapable of following up on it. Origins was a fluke, it was never meant to have a game #2, let alone the rest. Ta-da.

It’s about pushing an agenda. That’s what the game is about.

Edit:
Oh! And top scars. Encouraging mental illness.

Nah it’s the other way around dreadwolf was teased then after reports that it was going to be live service came out

TLDR: The game's story is about fighting perceived social injustices and promoting the cultural Marxist world view along with the new woke religion.
