Why all the hate? Many reviews are positive
So, I just did a google search for reviews. Most seem positive... Why all the hate on here?

https://www.gamesradar.com/games/dragon-age/dragon-age-the-veilguard-hands-on-preview/ - "would like to spend 100 more in this RPG right now, thank you very much"

https://www.pcgamer.com/games/dragon-age/the-veilguard-preview-hands-on/ - "The Veilguard gave me the faith its trailers couldn't: This is the BioWare comeback fans want."

https://www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-the-veilguard-preview/ - "The Veilguard Hands-On: 7 Hours Was Not Enough"

https://www.ign.com/articles/dragon-age-the-veilguard-preview-bioware-finally-nails-the-character-creator-ive-always-wanted - "BioWare Finally Nails The Character Creator I’ve Always Wanted"

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/dragon-age-the-veilguard-feels-like-bioware-at-its-most-confident/1100-6526566/ - "Six hours with BioWare's next Dragon Age leave an encouraging indication that fans are in for a treat."

There's a very loud vocal minority that has nothing irl to worry about so they need to come into online places to make problems so they're less bored. I rarely ever read reviews, positive or negative, because I prefer to use my own mind, likes, and interests to determine if something's for me or not.

Gaming journalism is a problem anyways. There is no other "journalism" that is so dependent on the companies that produce the products.

- if you do too many negative reviews you proably wont get free and early copies or exclusives
- lots of the ads in your magazine are from the companies whose products you review
- lots of pre-release-events that an objective journalist should never visit
etc.

In general i wonder if some magazines are even real and not just marketing tools.

Ah yes, the most trustworthy and totally not sponsored GamesRadar, IGN, and PC Gamer...

Ignorance is bliss, truly.

Have you thought more than 20 seconds about your own opinion?
The point of a review is a pre-purchase-decision tool. If you just purchase the game and "use your own mind" - what would you even do if you dislike it - especially at 2+ hours which is easy with a character editor.

Sorry but its just weird - especially in a world where there are so many games that its hard to even keep track if you just like a few genres.

I'm honestly shocked that there are still ppl who unironically trust the mainstream game journalists.

I wish I could be that unaware, my life would be so much more joyful xD

Simple with games with character creation. I just make a mock character real quick and play for my two hours. If a game cannot captivate me within that time frame, then I know it just isn't a game meant for me. It's not hard for me to tell what I will and won't like, not just with games but with anything.

It’s a 2024 EA game so it’s probably crappy like Inquisition if not worse (even without taking wokism into account)
Journalists are not even a source

Those are all previews, not reviews. I heard the review embargo drops on the 28th.
Of course, the reviews won't change anything here. The haters will say positive reviews are bought and negative reviews prove they were right, and the drama addicted opposition will say negative reviews were from sites with no credibility and negative reviews prove the haters are full of ****. All narratives will stay the same regardless of the review score average.

Touche. Same with The last of us part 2 that is a brilliant game. There is still people saying that game is trash and paid etc etc..

If you like Bioware games and Dragon age universe that I think that you are going to enjoy the veilguard as well :) Have fun my man.
