UGLY and FREAKISH characters. WHY???

These are without a doubt the UGLIEST and most DEFORMED looking characters in a AAA video game ever. Why do they look like this? The combination of the clean sterile lines of this game with Sea of Thieves-esque FREAK FACE mongrels is a enough to make me look away. How is it possible to make something so visually unappealing? Why is everything in this game drenched in purple and mauve like its a Saints Row title? If you like this you have AWFUL taste and should not be allowed to have an opinion. Just look at the faces- THEY HOLY CRAP THEY ARE SO UGLY WHY?????????????

I honestly mean it- they managed to create characters that are UGLIER than the sum of their parts. I have never played a Dragon Age game- but I remember when they came out it had kind of a generic dark fantasy setting with the usual flare- BUT THIS- ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IT IS BAD. Look at the faces- they are absolutely hideous. They created this big fantasy setting and they they put big broad faced- flat nosed- rigid expressions. Everyone is so broad and squat it looks like they are a funhouse mirror version of their intended vision. These are the UGLIEST freak face characters I have ever seen. It is impressive really that millions of dollars can be spent for it to come out like this.

I showed this to my girlfriend and she said the same thing! She said you could almost SMELL the characters. But she said she couldn't totally describe why. Does anyone else notice the chronic "♥♥♥♥♥-face" all the characters have? It looks like they are in a Barney or Mr. Rogers styled fantasy setting and yet they all have the "I really don't want to be here right now" look on their faces. You think this is a conscious decision or does it reflect the psychology of the dev team and it seeped into the game?

Bro you have to be kidding me. When oblivion came out almost TWENTY YEARS AGO. If you take into account graphics processing, the lessons learned from over 30 years of video game development you cannot deny these are the UGLIEST f-ers in any RPG. There is no excuse. This game is not going to be an Elden Ring, its not going to be an Elder Scrolls game. They hand crafted all these faces, sketched them, rigged them, animated them- THIS IS THE WAY THEY WANTED IT TO LOOK!!! Just think about what you are about to say before you hit that post button bro- you will save yourself the trouble

I haven't. I cant lie i didnt even know this game was coming out until recently. I just came across the trailer. I dont think i even want to know who made this because they obviously have zero taste. I just cant get over how the characters look- there is something really bad about them like they are r-wording my eyes with their ugliness. The feeling is like "yeah we look like crap. What are you going to do about it?" Its not like they are a product of an unskilled art team or they fumbled the direction of the game. They actually wanted it to look like this!!! I can't get over it. Its just the most boring, sexless, and unpleasant thing ive seen in a while and their is 0 excuse because im sure this game cost MILLIONS of dollars to develope. Some of the faces are straight up nightmare fuel. Its like you can feel them, smell them, etc. It is really uncomfortable.

It was ugly even for that time. The 3D models where badly modelled, textures weren't great, and the graphical engine was outdated and casted the oddest glows and (lack of) shadows. Any "technical limitations" causing these issues where still caused by their own bad programming in their own engine, not by issues caused by the technical limits of the time. In fact, at release it was quite harshly reviewed on it's horrid graphics. The rest of the game being so great, and the graphic's commical and meme'able value made easily up for it tho.

Calm down. Trowing around capslocked text doesn't make you more right lol. I'm not the one who started calling it "UGLIEST and most DEFORMED looking characters in a AAA video game ever". "Ever" includes an old games, hence it being a big statement. I don't need to take anything into account, but even if I do: Bethesda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their characters worse. At least Veilguard still has proper textures and shaders for it's time, even if you hate the 3D models and designs (which I honestly also don't think are that bad). And really, that's just one example. There are so many games with more ugly faces than Veilguard.

In fact, while not my favourite I don't hate how Veilguard looks. I don't hate the designs either. There is enough to be said about what we saw of the game so far. But "worst and most deformed faces in a AAA game ever" is not really it .

It doesn't have pre-established art styles This franchise has & they were completely ignored with Neon Age Vileguard. Thefore the worth of it is around twenty euros or so. 😕
