Dragon Age Veilguard are like Mass Effect 2 and 3
Think about it, the lighthouse is your homebase same as Normandy, you can explore both places and your companions are spread out there.
Both games have companion quests and you can romance them.
You shuttle craft that takes you to the planets are the gateways where it will take you to difference floating islands.
Both franchises have a grand questline that involve destruction of most living being for a grander plan that only they know.
Both games have "zones" on planets/islands that have mini quests.
Crafting are basicly the same you upgrade/change pieces.
Fighting are kinda the same.

Dragon Age are Mass Effect in space so take it what it is, I enjoyed Mass Effect games yes even Andromeda and so far I enjoy Dragon Age, and yes I liked Dragon Age Inquisition.

At the end of 2, you could, which only mattered for 3. So half correct.

Didnt it have some stuff about "gender" for Asari? Or at least how they are "single gender race" stuff.

Yep. I love love love the flow of this game and how it breadcrumbs you to the next task while still allowing exploration. It's a tight experience all around. I can't WAIT for a sequel to this.

Yes, the only differences is that ME has companions and memorable characters throughout the series that are miles better written and voice acted (villains, allies and in between), their characters have meaningful, in depth stories and personalities. The overall writing, storytelling and dialogue are miles better both main and side quests. (and i mean the writing in Veilguard, the already established DA lore is great).
Shepard has an established role in the universe that you can choose how to mold. Imagine only being able to be full Paragon, yikes.

Don't forget the aquarium in our Lighthouse quarters.

All we need is the model ship display.

You'd have to pay me money for me to play Veilguard. It hurts me to even watch videos of this game on YouTube.
You should play more games.

Unfortunately thou OP is right, at least from a mechanics point of view Veilguard is very similar to Mass Effect, which in turn was a simplified and more consolized version of KOTOR.

The reasons are relatively simple, of the 2 IPs the most successful on consoles has always been ME, on top of that most of the original team of DA has long left Bioware whereas the ME team is for the most part still around (even if you have to consider Andromeda),

Combat is "the same", there's just you controlling the protagonist and 2 allies who contribute only via extra skills, versus games where you had a bigger party and the ability to individually control them.

The hub system had been already adopted with Inquisition, but has also always been a staple of Bioware's sci-fi games, being the Normandy or The Ebon Hawk.

The dialogue structure is the same too, not debating if the quality/options are the same, but the structure is.

The protagonist is voiced, which automatically limits the amount of options available (voice actors are very expensive).

it hurts even more when you realise that half of the streamers straight up lying to you when they say you get forced to have tehse dialogs. Because the gender dialogs locked behind a optional dialog that you have to confirm to even enable the rest.
