but sometimes the performance degrades in a matter of minutes, not hours, like in 30 minutes of gameplay my fps drops to less than 30. I wish there was a real solution instead of just restarting all the time
For me on a 4070 12GB I opted to lose the ray traced reflections and keep everything else and it manages very well even at native DLAA with frame generation. Someone with a 8GB card might have a different experience and have to lower the texture setting.
A 8GB VRAM card isn't enough for Ultra textures. Not sure if an 11GB or 12GB one is enough. I have an 8GB card and I had this problem until I changed textures to High.
Doesn't apply to me, I experienced the issue and I have an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB VRAM.
As I mentioned, the performance drop as I play more (always solvable with a game restart) only triggers after using the game's photo mode or after alt-tabbing (swapping) between the game and other windows or the desktop. Also, this is not the only game showing this behavior after using its photo mode or after the game's window has lost focus.
Sure, there might be other causes for something like this. The texture setting was the issue for me though and I haven't had the issue since changing it.
DLAA was also problematic for me, DLSS Quality was the better option and couldn't really see the difference without a microscope.
wich driver version you use? got no problems with the 24.7.1 version (with rx7900xt) maybe sometines a drop to 55fps but only for 1 sec. overall it stays on 60 with vsync on and everything on max. even nothing when alt tapping to look about chest guides
Lowering the texture quality setting will probably help prevent the issue from occurring or take much longer to occur under certain conditions. In my case, these conditions are using the game's photo mode or switching between windows during gameplay. It may even be that Windows or its WDDM is involved in this weird behavior, though it may be fixed with some work from the developer.
AMD drivers can be fickle at best, try rolling back to a previous and see how you get on
I'm using the Adrenalin 24.10.1 driver. I only experienced the issue in some Arlathan Forest sectors and always after extended play time and after using photo mode/alt-tabbing. So, it's not a big deal, but I must admit I experienced something similar to OP under certain circumstances.
Do you recommend updating to 24.10.37.10 beta driver?
Also, paradoxically, I read somewhere that the beta driver 24.20.19.05 may perform slower than 24.10.1 in this game, despite having specific game support.
maybe something together with a win update, didnt updated win for a few weeks now.
Sometimes amd has some issues after win updates, but i think nvdia has it sometimes too
