Nvidia 566.03 Driver Crashing?
Hi guys. Should I hold off on installing Nvidia 566.03 graphic driver? I keep hearing that it causes crashes with this game. When I go to run Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster, it keeps nagging that I have outdated Nvidia driver installed (561.09). Thoughts and help appreciated :)

When you installed 566.03 and launched/ran DA:Veilguard, did it have to recompile shaders again? That is the only thing holding me off on updating to 566.03 because it took my laptop almost an hour to compile the shaders the first time I launched game... Thoughts and help appreciated :)

I also updated my drivers, and yes it did. It will always recompile shaders when you change drivers.

It will do yes, every driver update will require a full shader compile.

Zero crashes here. Just random microstutters.

Hi again guys. I just now installed the 566.03 drivers, and recompiled shaders. I started a stopwatch around the 15-20% mark, and it took about 14 minutes and 39 seconds. I will report back if I get any crashes in-game with this Nvidia driver.

After 2-3 hours of gaming a lot of people (including me) get a direkt x crash , but you can start the game again afterwards and play another 2-3 hours.

With the DirectX crash, does it completely crash your computer, or just closes the game being played?

the game freezes but sounds still playing and i can alt tab out to close the game and start again , then i can play for another hour or so until it just closes without a message.

Just closes the game and gives you an error

I crashed 5 times over 3 days with 566.03 on my 3080. It takes long play sessions generally (at least for me) of 2+ hours. Rolled back drivers and have been running smooth as butter ever since.

That could be a sort of corrupt driver install. Did you do a clean install to 566.03 or just upgrade to it?

Sorry for late response.
I installed it before playing the game. But like others said, every update make games recompile shaders, its not only for DAV.
And still no crash after almost 40 hours. I guess I'm in the lucky ones.
