The dialogue in question which is why reviews have not started bombing yet only starts like half way through the game, at that point the whole narrative of the game changes, almost like they were forced to add in certain stuff half way through development, i hit nearly 40 hours before it got bad and every npc starts going on about certain stuff.

It just seems fake, like A.I. made it

The writing is indeed real. It passed someone's eyes, maybe a few, but someone was like "yup, let's ship it." The writing is way too self-inserting and lazy. It breaks every rule to writing compelling dialogue. Lacks any kind of nuance, infantilizes the player for any opportunity to lecture them, and just breaks any kind of immersion with all the modern day slang. I have no idea how you have a character like Morrigan over here speaking old Shakespearean and then in the same world you got Taash saying ♥♥♥♥ like "oh they go hard" or "eat (s)hit, this isn't your land!"

Watched the first 1:20 and might be in the game... but its a WEIRD cut... nothing like this is in the game CUT like this. Its randomly cut together parts of different conversations at different points... and well - it sounds weird than.

Whats the issue?
I can take any Video out of the Internet (even better if you have several of the same person) and cut them together in a way you think the person shown is stupid...

Is this AI or real, can someone actually playing the game confirm?

Wouldnt be suprising if the script was made by AI.

But on the flip side even AI does not repeat every attribute trice. Thats usually a thing modern writers do.

"Don't forget powerful!"
10/10 would dialog again.

And thats the literally every conversation in this game.
Why does a boat float while a rock sink?

They fired their senior staffs a little more than a year ago, they cite "agile and more focused studio" as reason. It does sounds about right. If you fired people who refused to write certain awkward lines aka narratives then replace them with people who will do just that, they definitely will achieve an "agile and more focused studio".
As agile as the are, they swiftly float to bankruptcy.

Its hard to me imagine there is a trans person that would say "yep that's me" after watching this cringe of a scene. Along with being happy about having post surgery scars, which are usually TRAUMATIZING UNPLEASANT SIDE EFFECT of trying to get somewhere. You might as well place a crippled vet with poster "war is fun, join our ranks" there to find new recruits for the army, same vibe and same end effect. Or morbidly obese person taking a go with advertisement for fast food restaurant. I just wonder who the hell thought its gonna be a good idea. BTW you know that you could do that in a lot of games by placing scars and stitches in the right places using character creator? I just wonder how many trans people actually did that and put something on their character, they would really like to forget about.

Just because something is AI doesn't mean you have to like it.

modern gaming!

It's nowhere as bad as they would want you to believe. It's really just isolated to the Taash character and only on her companion missions which you can easily skip.

GOTY dialogue indeed
DarkBlueAgent Nov 5, 2024 @ 3:35am
Is this dialogue real? LMAO

I saw the LGBTQ+ tag, but I thought it was just players being...players.

No, the dialogue is spliced together from several different conversations to be "humorous". So not entirely representative. You could probably do the same to any game if you had enough time to waste.

Why do you feel the need to attempt to convince everyone in every thread?
If your game is so good, just go play it. It can stand on its own merit.
You seem to be rating the forums much higher right now. :LaughingOwlcat:

Nobody questioned that. They're all obviously different clips, and it's clear when one scene cuts to another. However, they're all bad even in a vacuum.
The correct answer to the OP's question is, "Yes, that dialogue is real".
