Do choices even matter in this game?
my friend told me it doesnt even matter what you choose more like the illusion of choice. its not like how in origins there were 10+ variations of the ending. and 90% of the time the answers you pick they dont even say what you want them to say. (which was Matty Plays biggest gripes with the game I saw.)

I'ld say, choices matters at some crossroads. The "daily" choices you'ld make don't have a huge impact except on whom you gonna romance. But as some point, there would be huge choices (4 of them) that have a huge impact on your story.

Best of my knownledge there are 4 different main endings (+ variations)

Only wish I had the ability to kill my companions if they went against my supreme idea.

Can I push my companions off a cliff? NOPE!

Can I insult them when they annoy me? NOPE!

Can I shout them down when they disagree with me? NOPE!

So what can I do? AGREE WITH THEM in 4 different ways.

No choices and interactions do not matter in this game, you are on rails for a majority of it, all roads lead to the same conclusion, you constantly agree with EVERYTHING your companions say, the bad guys are always bad and the good guys are always good, why, because you are told they are.

Boring.

This game really plays up the illusion of choice. From the forced dialogue to the insanity of retconning things at the end. I became increasingly frustrated with it and just decided to put it down.

Should have been SO MUCH BETTER!!

It actually made me decide to go back to the original games and disregard this game as a fade aberration a demon played on my 3 previous heroes.

Dragon Age Cannon to me is Origins. Thats it. Nothign more. Nothing less. 14 Endings. How many does this have? 1?

NOPE. this is literally a "we pretend your choices matter but achieve the exact same result" kind of game.

Right? The only reason we have companions are to use their abilities for map purposes, they do 0-1 damage, can't be hurt, and take no agro unless they use a taunt. Super lame.

Not really. I saved Minrathous and left Treviso to the blight. By the end of the game, I had maxxed both shadow dragons and crows and Lucanis was hero of the Veilguard and quite friendly to me . Companion and faction choices did not matter either, except some very lame slides at the end of the game. Not even companion attitudes changed after those choices.

Choices don't matter, sadly. Your character development is also 3 choices (sometimes a 4th), that make you a good guy. Nothing Neutral or Evil.
