While i know he's just jester farming i do feel an itch to respond lol
No one cares if the game has 'representation', what we care about is if the game is ramming an agenda down my throght. Bioware did game with 'repreentation' done right, the original Dragon Age, NWN, Jade Empire.
Bring that level of writing and you'd have a lot more people welcoming it
Exactly. Inclusion isn't the real issue, it's just the knee-jerk defense excuse by those defending bad writing. BG3 was loaded with gameplay *options* which included LGB choices, and it had a great story with great writing and dialogue. This game (and many others) are being written by inexperienced (both in terms of writing and life) people, and the stories and characters aren't cool.
Let's just do some basic math.
The game costs 70 bucks.
On Steam, we have a top player count of 90k players.
The estimates right now are at 464k and 577k based on VG Insights, Gamalytic and defenders of this game claiming it sold 550k. Where they got this from I have no idea but let's just high ball the game in its favor and say 600k.
This game was in development hell and had to restart development. Inquisition cost was 150 million. If everyone would buy at full price (best case scenario), that would mean they need to sell 2,1 million copies. It sold 12 million in 10 years time, with a spike during the launch of Veilguard.
Now game costs keep rising. This was 10 years ago! This is still probably too small but let's just say it costs 200 million to make Veilguard. That would mean the game needs to sell 2,8 million copies to break even! Even if you were taking the high ball for this game at 600k, that is not even a third of what they need to break even, let alone be a profit and keep in mind! The development of this game was not smooth and had to start again and took around 8 years! Do you know how much money goes into that?
Soooo sorry to say. Companies might still go for the DEI funds, but they ain't doing this for you and once that DEI funds dries up, they will drop this woke crap faster than Concord's shutdown.
Well you can keep the game I have moved on. You are so wrong on the things you think people are relay mad about. It is the writing in this game and the bad game play compared to older games that did it better. Oh and before you tell me the older game did not have good writing that should be a reason not for them to step it up when we had games like BG3 that did it better than this game. you can have this and all the other games they come out with the crap writing. It is the same as all the movies and TV shows it has nothing to do with woke or crap like that you can see it in the past if you look. The thing is in the past they new how to wright it way better then now you might want to go back and learn some history and how things were done better yeas ago. But keep die on that hill if you want. I care about woke as long as it is written good. But I guess not every one can have taste you need some one to eat the garbage so have at it and enjoy.
Uhhh.... free pizza? 😁
