Game is like Fable for me. Not Dark Fantasy.

Im having fun with the game but i cannot stop thinking as if im playing a kind of Fable cloned game. Especially the Arlathan Forrest reminded me of the Fable games and the gameplay somehow too.
Its not neccesay a bad thing but i expected more of another kind of fantasymood. I was looking for a more grim Middle Earth, Forgotten Realms, D&D.. kind of worlds. Not blue laser puzzles enviroments...

Honestly, I think the reception from old DA fans would have been better if it was not advertised as Dragon Age. Because apart from using the terms and the frequent name dropping, it has little to do with what the previous games have built up.

This is a good comparison. At least the lastest ones. Because, you cannot be a bad or at least mean person, in DAV.

Like many other action-RPG nowadays, it's a stupid writing where not even a singe character is taking the whole thing seriously. They always need to make jokes or puns...Not even one emotional dialogue yet and I'm 50% of the game...

Its kind of sad especially when the new Fable looks more like Dragon Age and this looks like Fable.

I said looks btw, other than that it has none of the charm Fable has.

you have been recruited specifically to lead a team to save the world and lead a team, by Varric. That means you are a leader of good character which means, if you play the game (or pay any attention to what the game says it is and don't refund you understand that you can't play an evil jerk. It explicitly isn't that sort of game. I can't play an F1 racing driver in Microsoft Flight Sim either,

We can't just buy a game and then get upset that it's not the game you imagined it to be. It is what it is. An action rpg where you play a decent person trying to save the world with a team you have to get along with.

If you don't want to play that game that's absolutely fine but people cannot complain that it isn't the game you want. The game is the game it is. If you don't like it, and i can totally understand why, then simply don't play it.

I take issue with that last part, man. You're saying that and I get what you mean but what you have to understand is that this is a franchise that has existed for 15 years. People have played the previous games and come to love them, the games have established audiences already. When you take something like that and change it to such a degree it's only natural that the fans born from those games are going to be upset. People are absolutely allowed to complain that it isn't the game they want - this isn't a brand new thing like Concord. Dragon Age has existed for years and years man.

You're talking as if this a brand new thing and no Dragon Age has ever existed before, but you and I both know that isn't the case.

Fable was actually pretty dark.

Sure it had the sweet fairy tale setting and the graphics looked cartoony enough but the story is pretty harsh.

I mean starting with the whole village burning and people getting slaughtered left and right.

Not saying anything about your mentor the endibg.

crazy cause dragon age was barely ever dark fantasy to begin with. and definitely wasnt in 2/inquisition.
