Are you guys getting really high CPU temps?

Hi everyone, so right now I'm basically hitting a max temp of 72°C on a Ryzen 7 5800x with air cooling but I don't really know if this is a normal temp since I can't remember the last game that got my CPU like that.

My i7-13700k gets up to 85C+ when running both DA and Metaphor. Beginning to wonder if I need to replace the thermal paste or whether there are other issues. I've only had it a year or so.

das normal u should just undervolt, intels usually can handle -100mv from stock. u shud also test ur max cpu temp at full usage thou just to know what happens, it will probably throttle if ur stock.

use cinebench r23 + hwinfo64 for this

I have between 93-100 degrees it might be the contact the cooler is making with the cpu.
Was thinking of getting a thermalright CPU bracket but don't want to wreck my PC suppose to get 5-20 degrees cooler with one on using a Noctua air cooler.
I'm on a 13700K as well running 1440P

its very easy to install lol, unless u overtighten or is letting it dangle. also i wouldnt get noctua if you don't already have it, its superbly overpriced. thermalright towers are pretty much bang for buckerooz.

if ur also using a 13700k seriously advise you to undervolt or at least power limit if you are feeling lazy.

I fixed it just turning down settings like Hair and Ray Tracing reflections. Also limited FPS to 120hz instead of unlimited which is still playable at 1440P.I turned down FPS usage in Windows 11 power settings from 80% min to 90% max but that didn't do anything for temps. At least I'm not gettingn 100c in battles anymore peaks at about 94c or lower.

I switched CPUs out I had laying around went from 13700K back to 12700k I get temps in the high 80s now. I'm on a Z790 motherboard though with DDR5 and 4080.
I turned all the settings up to the Max and I get 89 degrees tops now in battles instead of a 100. I wanted to do this for a while because I was having problems in other games as well Intel XTU would throttle like crazy using that app it would give my 13700K a pass though.

I saw some old benchmarks on Youtube comparing the 13700K with the 12700K and I was like Damn 12 degrees cooler I want that back.

Interestingly, my gpu is a 6700xt and has never hit 70 in this game.

Switch from "windowed fullscreen" to just "fullscreen". Make sure ray tracing is off as well

Those temps don't seem to be anything to worry about. 72c is not bad, especially for a Ryzen. Those run hot as hell, and after I had a Ryzen CPU, I never got one again for that exact reason. It loved to heat up, and supposedly it's designed to, but it just makes me uncomfortable.

72 is normal if it is 84C and more then there is problem

ryzen 7 5800x3d at 85-88 degrees rtx 4070ti at 50-55 degrees. find the error

I can see that we are on the same page there haha. As soon as I see temps above 65°C I start to worry and pay close attention to them, the good thing is that now I know what the normal temps are and that really calms me down a little more but I think my obsession with temps will continue xd

Yes, this game causes errors with my cpu water pump. Literally, only this application ever.

Every time this game needs to compile shaders (so after every patch), the CPU temp spikes to mid 90s. No other game even comes remotely close to doing this. How does a game who's engine hasn't really had a significant update in almost 10 years, and who's RECOMMENDED hardware is 10 years old, cause this? Starfield, New World, Throne and Liberty... none of these do this. Its just so weird.
