Can someone explain the mage 3 bars attack when you charge heavy attack. I think its called staff energy
I have noticed that if I press triangle and charge 3 bars it applies a status effect.. what does 1 bar and 2 bars do just apply more damage? Charging spirit skill passive charges this bar passively. Just want to make sure you know what bar I am talking about thats why I mentioned that its the one that charges with CHARGING SPIRIT passive skill

So, I don't play with a controller, so I'm not sure what "triangle" does. However, on your mana bar you generally have 3 dots that indicate thresholds in your current mana. Once you have enough mana to hit the first dot, you can use abilities that require one "dot" of mana (they show up as blue glowing circles). You can see how much mana (how many dots) each ability requires by looking it at it in your skills. You need to reach the two-dot threshold for most most abilities because most require that level of mana.

I'm not sure what the third dot, which indicates your mana is full, actually means and if it matters.

You probably talk about the staff energy. You can charge it, if you hold the heavy attack key, but it will cost mana. You increase the dmg the higher you charge it. Some items and perks will buff this attack.

Also when you fully charge the staff, the wave can actually push back enemies, you can push them in a chasm
