Is Bellara the worst ever?

We all know DAV is a bad game. And we all know the characters are also all terrible. But is Bellara the most insufferable one of them all? Like every single bad writing decision distilled into one of the most truly awful and boring characters of all time? Everything I’ve seen her in is insufferable and cringe. Why did they make her like that?

Personally, Taash is my worst, the whole politics aside. But in general, I feel that they are all boring characters.

She is a too childishly aggressive to the point of being unintentionally comedic. She is the total opposite of Bull (inqusition) who was aggressive when the situation called for it while having an intelligent and charming wit about him.

Lame lines like "Dragons are cool! Who doesn't like to talk about Dragons?". Seriously?

She's an insert, and the exact archetype you would find within a Disney film. The comedic relief, the aloof companion, the overtly curious, the character meant to be endearing, and how millennial writers of BioWare would envision themselves as early 20 something year old's.

There's next to no redeeming qualities, and regardless of franchise, or even media, any character you possibly deem the worst becomes far superior in comparison. Example; you may think Jar Jar is, by far, the worst character ever conceived in media. I guarantee you that Jar Jar succeeds in all aspects when compared to Bellara.

Taash is way worse than Bellara.

In everything, character design, colors, story, and writing.

Bellara at least is the goofy naive good for nothing that every adventure rpg needs in the group, the female version of Alistair basically.

Taash is just the vast emptiness, the big nothing with the addendum of the push up scene that literally add nothing to the game except some social engineering.

I like her enough, reminds me of a mix between Sera and Merrill.

Neve have some good redeeming qualities, so far her and Varric the only decent characters that you would expect from an epic styled rpg AAA game.

If I were to give an analogy about the character interactions in general, it's like watching an episode of glee. That's the vibe I'm getting. But at least glee's characters had more definition to them.

The writing, acting, humor and voicing of some characters (I can only speak for german version) is difficult to bear. Maybe for some teens the right stuff? But for me as an over 50year old adult pc player - who grow up with Baldurs Gate 1+2 and Morrowind and so on - below RP average ... way below. Maybe the time for good old RPGs is gone?

set voice to englisch its better and turn of the subtitles they are sometimes wierd

She is just a bad copy of Nenio in Pathfinder - even from her appearance. And also Nenio was the most annoying character in Pathfinder ;)

Nenio would have been fine if not for that god awful dungeon at the end of her quest line. It literally ended my first playthough and took me a year to try the game again.

Bellara is made to be cringe. There a lot of people like that in the world. The dev did there research and put it in the game.
Depending of your class choice there will be a worse character. If you play a tank class Bellara is not the worst.
