rotating statues at the start of the game??

Anyone know what these do... it is before you find the eluvian room part.. my character makes a comment like "oh that did something after rotating all of them but i can't find out what it does

There are three sets of two statues that you need to point at each other. The first set are right next to each other, but the other sets are spread out over the area. Once you point all three sets correctly there's a door in the main hall that opens up to a side area.

i already went passed the area is there a way to get back?? also what do you get by doing this

that puzzle unlocks some music room it's hidden next to the staircase just walk next to the wall where the table is against the wall and a secret passage will open

is the hall the main bulding the one where your room is?
