Trolls are flooding the foruns because it didnt flop
I was never a big fan of DA, plan to get it on sale like every other one - DA was always too much YA and actiony to my taste... that said trying to read on the game is near impossible with the ridiculous flood of trolling and baiting and what- a bunch of topics calling this a failure?

Because of what, 70k steam peak?

Persona 5 Royal- 35k peak
Silent Hill 2- 23k
God of War 72k
GoW Ragnarok 35k
Jedi Fallen Order 46k
Jedi Survivor 64k
Resident Evil 7- 5k peak

All considered sucesses, praised even. Resident Evil 7 i was surprised at the low peak, yet praised everywhere and overwhelmingly positive.
Before making this post i was expecting Veilguard to be trailing behind some of the above- i was going to say being a little behind some of the top most popular *singleplayer* titles wasnt anything... but its actually ahead of A LOT of them

Wtf is this, gen-z brainrot 'if not the top 3 it failed' or something? What its only a sucess if it reached the numbers of the GOTY record breaking sucesses that surprised everyone like Eldenring, BG3? NO ONE was saying or expecting the game to be the next Bg3 or Eldenring- heck overall people werent even calling it better then GoW

And thats steam alone, wich is just 1 platform anyway. Peak concurrent is a bad metric- ffs if it peaked at 30k it wouldnt mean a flop either

Total sales and total of players are what counts, and if peak can be any indication its just a very broad hint at possible total sales.
Spoiler: 70k peak means its selling really well...

Fallen Order, crazy budget, 46k peak EA imedieatly announced the sequel was coming- you know, back when they were pretty much done with SP games... and those are 46k peak on Star Wars IP, with a jedi protagonist many were calling better then 'woke new trilogy'

Persona 5- just a stupidly hyped franchise overwhelmingly positive that never was on PC
Silent Hill 2, classic again never on pc

IF Player peak was= sucess...

Then Veilguard is what, over 3x better then Silent Hill 2? Seriously guys? 14x better then resident evil 7?

and if 70k is failure then what, all those sucessful franchises been running red for years now, and ditching sequels?

Wtf the trolls smoking?
Anyway theyre either crying inside knowing it suceeded but lying anyway because they cant come up with anything better...

...or idk, be really low iq for really believing that? Out of touch with reality?

Its sad for humanity that its likely the second case...

All of those except RE7 and SH2 were re-releases, ports of older games. or they came out on the EA app before steam.
And RE7 did 18K, not 5K.

Compared to other big profile AAA RPGs on release day, it's a flop:
Dark Souls 3 - 130K
Dragon's Dogma 2 -230K
Baldur's Gate 3 - 800K
Elden Ring - 900K
Hogwarts Legacy - 850K
Cyberpunk 2077 - 1M
Wukong - 2.4M

Words, meaning. You understand they have particular meanings right?

FLOP is a total failure. CONCORD was a flop. Suicide squad, Redfall

Again no one- not even bioware were assuming the game to be on wukong or even cyberpunk levels.

So what, all musicians are flops because theyre not Beyonce or Michael Jackson?

Ffs by that logic everything above was bad near Wukong. Now that wukong reached 2.4m everything under 1m is #@%, is that it?

GOTY, top 3, top 10 ---- great games, good games, average, sucess, breaking even ---- net loss, flop.

Range, amounts, degrees, ffs numbers - any of that makes any sense?

But lets be frank you probably are well aware of that, like most posting on the foruns.
Its not a matter of logic or sucess but bragging rights right? You were all convinced its terrible and would flop, so 70k gotta be a flop

(btw thats far higher then other bioware games peak on steam)
But sure, those all flopped too right?

I am here cause the game flopped so at least the steam discussion for it are entertaining.

RDR2 had an even bigger budget and capped out at 70k as well. It was one of the best selling games of all time. This game is doing just fine.

another user who doesn't own the game yet defends it. I guess his copy of veilguard goes to another school.

Time will tell. It did better than I thought it would for concurrent players on Halloween.

Still not purchasing it based on what I've seen though. Too many red flags at this point.

wtf are you talking about? it flopped hugely. Compare to stuff like Hogwarts, even Inquisition did far, far better than this.
ghost Nov 1, 2024 @ 11:00am
Of course it didn't flop. The Woke Mafia has to draft on previous best selling titles to push their garbage onto everyone else.
Crotalus Nov 1, 2024 @ 11:01am
Its start was not what they anticipated. Only time will tell but my magic 8 ball says they will be very hard pressed to make the profit they need.
but it is flopping pretty hard even it's not 70k people that will save EA and Bioware

RIP Bioware

Thank god the talent from Bioware left and made a new studio in 2019 and we getting a new mass effect from them called Exodus

Yep, you got it. People filled with hatred can't unwind or expand their minds. So yes, we are seeing the last gasp of the oh no, people are different crowd. They are the past. Let them hate. Let them troll. I thought the game was pretty good so far and really enjoying it.
Viper Nov 1, 2024 @ 11:13am
Trolling is what they do. These people are not part of our hobby.Ignore them.
