I think people wouldnt take as much offense, when it would be Marketed as such.
But its marketed as "Inclusive, and Diverese". Which is a flat out lie if you Exclude and Insult a big part of the Consumer base.´

Great, than don't call it Dragon Age, of which I bought the previous installments and helped fund this project, with the understand that it will have the same main themes again and will be a contituation of the universe.

It's fine that they want to have their own creative outlet, just don't co-opt something for it because you know other wise your audiance is to small for a large project.

Because now you have made the franchise unsubstainable by pushing for a audiance smaller than the original and nobody will be getting anything after this and those very sem devs, won't have a job anymore.

You're comments would have only made sense if this was a totally new IP that didn't have the previous installments as expectations people could rightfully call upon.

They own the IP, so I'm not sure where you're all getting the idea that they had no right to use an IP they own to make a game for a community they like.

I understand the oldschool Dragon Age fans being disappointed, but you aren't owed a new Dragon Age game that's just for you.

Again, the developers made the game they wanted to make. So, do you want to force your political views on them, or do you want to simply take your business elsewhere?

Because its the same tired message we've been seeing over the last 5 years.

We get it, gay people exist. Trans people get triggered by words. It's up to us to make them feel safe. Blah blah blah.

This is not new. Ever wonder why Dustborn and Concord bombed but this didn't so far? Because it was a bait and switch. People thought they were getting a Dragon Age game, but got a trans coming of age story instead. Atleast Dustborn was honest about who it was.

What part of "your IP will mean nothing without people funding it, so you have to consider them" didn't you get ? you keep repeating the same gaming journo lines that everyone rolls their eyes at because those only work in a echochamber.

If people were to simply not buy the game without spewing hate then there would be no excuse for the game's failure. When you all do petty, hateful stuff however, it just makes it easier to blame the game's failures on "bigots."

They are allowed to make their own game. The same way when they take an existing IP that is attached with a certain fan base, they get to deal with the criticism when they make their own game...which isn't really their own game....from a franchise that existed before they got hold of the IP.

Solution: Actually make your own game with it's own title. You all love using the word Brave. Be brave and make your own thing rather than taking something someone else made and changing it.

While some of your complaints are valid, your complaints about use of modern-world topics and terminology are mostly ideological. Still, if most of your criticisms are constructive and not tinged with anger and disgust then you're probably not a big part of the problem.

Plenty of the people on the forums, however, are mostly just hanging out to call the developers ideologies a "cancer" over and over. Places like the Steam forums make it easy for the developers of games like this to sell any failure as "bigotry" and "persecution."
