This game has nothing to do with Dragon Age. I feel cheated.
Story-wise its on par with an comicbook at best. The most shallow game i have played in a long time.
If you are seeking "Dragon Age", avoid this. If you are over 13 years of age, avoid this.
The story has been okay so far. Not great but not incredibly bad either.
The dialogue writing however...it's all over the place and extremely tone-deaf at times.
Simply put the whole game feels a little boring and I would think the target audience were young teenagers if not for the M rating.
Obviously this is just my first impression and it might change as I progress,
The story though, is pretty subpar. Even if you completely ignore the gender politic elements, the writing in general is pretty insulting. You'll have several moments throughout the story where the character mention the same things again and again, as if the game expects you're some 5 year old with no attention span.
Like you'll have a discussion about the importance of teamwork and then 3 minutes later into the next cutscene, you'll have that same discussion about teamwork as if its the first time its being discussed. Some plot points are outright garbage and could have been completely avoided had key characters simply elaborated on what their intentions were and didn't speak as if they were utter villains. Then act like you're an ignorant knave for not realizing they were a good guy all along.
This!
Though I would say the narrative/story is actually decent, it's the dialogue that is actual pain.
So far at least
If you like DA, I bet you'll be dissapointed.
Gameplay is pretty much a copy of Hogwarts Legacy, however the devs made some things fool proof, they aren't as worse as other do with painted ledges and so on, they maybe levers and "treasures" glow though. Didn't see any xray vision yet
No my type of game personally, but if you enjoy it feel free to do so
The gameplay is mostly fun but it is on rails. Railroaded between locations, and the locations are 'corridors' with little opportunity to explore or go off the main path. Story just seems - so far anyway - to be a predictable good vs evil magicians sort of thing.
But I am only 4.5 hours in so all the above could change in time.
It's in no way a bad game, better than I thought it would be, but nothing earth shattering.
Writing and just basiic dialogue is probably worst I've ever seen in a game. Do you know what The Room by Tommy Wiseau is? It's that bad.
