Plenty of streams at this point. Some are supported by EA some are not. Watch a few different ones, and you can probably form an opinion.

From the consensus, people like the gameplay, not too happy with the narrative/story.
Game play is fun. Story is good. A bit too epic and high fantasy for me, but solid.

This is probably the best succinct answer you'll get.

The only epic about it is the backdrops. Think Disney/Shrek chars with about the same intelligent conversations. Increadible lineear missions where you follow a very narrow path of small areas/rooms. There are no open spaces. You cannot travel away from the invisible path. And most women look unpleasantly male-ish. Its very difficult to create a female character that look female. All combat is exactly the same.

This game has nothing to do with Dragon Age. I feel cheated.

Story-wise its on par with an comicbook at best. The most shallow game i have played in a long time.

If you are seeking "Dragon Age", avoid this. If you are over 13 years of age, avoid this.

I'm only 4 hours in. (not on this account obviously, before I trigger some white knight), but the combat itself is fine, nothing ground breaking tho. It's like DAI with some dodging here and there, except you only have to watch out for your character's safety.

The story has been okay so far. Not great but not incredibly bad either.

The dialogue writing however...it's all over the place and extremely tone-deaf at times.

Simply put the whole game feels a little boring and I would think the target audience were young teenagers if not for the M rating.

Obviously this is just my first impression and it might change as I progress,

Gameplay isn't bad. It isn't the best, but it can be fun once you're into it. A bit clunky at times though.

The story though, is pretty subpar. Even if you completely ignore the gender politic elements, the writing in general is pretty insulting. You'll have several moments throughout the story where the character mention the same things again and again, as if the game expects you're some 5 year old with no attention span.

Like you'll have a discussion about the importance of teamwork and then 3 minutes later into the next cutscene, you'll have that same discussion about teamwork as if its the first time its being discussed. Some plot points are outright garbage and could have been completely avoided had key characters simply elaborated on what their intentions were and didn't speak as if they were utter villains. Then act like you're an ignorant knave for not realizing they were a good guy all along.

This!

Though I would say the narrative/story is actually decent, it's the dialogue that is actual pain.

So far at least

Considering the writers, I bet it's not. Taking into consideration some of the independent reviewers they've said that it's not a Dragon Age story, it's a generic RPG #54523423 story about some fantasy stuff.

If you like DA, I bet you'll be dissapointed.

The story is around 2020-2024 but plays in a fantasy environment medieval Europe which is already a terrible idea if you ask me (it is immersion breaking), but maybe it is a comedy and not trying to take itself serious

Gameplay is pretty much a copy of Hogwarts Legacy, however the devs made some things fool proof, they aren't as worse as other do with painted ledges and so on, they maybe levers and "treasures" glow though. Didn't see any xray vision yet

No my type of game personally, but if you enjoy it feel free to do so

I'm about 4.5 hours in and I am enjoying it. But it's not the sort of game that really wows me, I think it's a 7 out of 10 sort of game, it gets a lot right but it seems like it should have been so much better.

The gameplay is mostly fun but it is on rails. Railroaded between locations, and the locations are 'corridors' with little opportunity to explore or go off the main path. Story just seems - so far anyway - to be a predictable good vs evil magicians sort of thing.

But I am only 4.5 hours in so all the above could change in time.

It's in no way a bad game, better than I thought it would be, but nothing earth shattering.

The gameplay most seem to enjoy. Many of the characters and dialog is poorly written with a few exceptions. The story i hear does have an epic conclusion but I can't say for sure.

Gameplay is pretty good, especially if you like character action games. The areas look a lot nicer than previews made them look as well.

Writing and just basiic dialogue is probably worst I've ever seen in a game. Do you know what The Room by Tommy Wiseau is? It's that bad.
