Is there a way to show Playstation Buttons instead of XBOX Buttons in the Game?
I am using an PS4 Controller, but the game shows the XBOX Buttons in the Game.
Is there a way to show the Playstation Buttons instead of the XBOX in the game?

(X, O, Triangle, Square -> instead of X, Y, A, B)

I tried some Controller Settings in Steam, and the controller is working finde, but i do not want the wrong Button Icons in the game. Maybe this can be fixed...

Why do you care? you know what button its telling you to press anyway, like if for instance it tells you to press Y; then you would know that that would obviously mean to press Triangle

I never had an XBOX Controller, and when it has to be fast, i am never sure what is A or B - because on my Nintendo Controllers A and B are different from XBOX. So i am always confused. So it would help me a lot when the game would show the Playstation Button Icons.

i have the same issue. i get super confused from X Y A B. I wish PS4 controller support was included. If somebody has a solution to fix it, I would appreciate it.

You can try through Steam big mode, if that doesn't work then yeah Sony never properly supported DS4 for PC unlike DS5.

So funnily enough what occasionally fixes it for games is turning off steam input for this game. haven't tested for Veilguard though since I'm not using a controller.

Did not work for me. Thanks anyways.

I'm using an 8bitdo controller, which is always recognized as an Xbox One controller. I used ReWASD to translate my inputs as DS4 and it's showing Playstation icons.

Choosing button icons regardless of which controller is being used really should be a standard by now. Genuinely surprised they didn't make it an option considering recent AAA releases have them. RE4, SH2, FFXVI, just to name a few.

The way I am making it work is by using DS4Windows AND plugged in controller (not bluetooth). For some reasons some buttons don't work with DS4W though so I have to switch back to Steam input, but DS4Windows enforces the DS4 icons display.

So the steps are:
Having the controller plugged in
-disable Steam input
-launch and enable DS4windows with a DS4 profile
-launch Dragon Age
-once the DS4 icons start to show in game, stop DS4Windows and enable Steam Input

It is a bit unstable, sometimes in game the Xbox icons will display for a split seconds, and I expect that this may stop working after some random update but it does the trick for now ans is not too tedious.
This worked for me using a PS5 controller w/ type-c to c cable. Disable steam input before launching game, launch game, and the game will auto pull the correct U.I.
