Always walking when moving directly forward
Having a big when I walk directly forward I can only walk, doesn't occur in combat or when my weapon is out thankfully but it is really annoying having to either jog at an angle or RP walk everywhere.

I am using a switch pro controller and I have fiddled around with the dead zone options to no avail.

anyone recommend a fix, would be greatly appreciated.

Had a similar problem today, I fixed mine. For some reason Walk(Toggle) was unbound in the settings, set it something random and now I can jog normally again. So it might be a settings thing.

Were you able to map it to something on the pro controller? I mapped it to TAB on keyboard, but it doesn't fix the issue in the controller.

done some further testing with different controllers, this issue seems to be fixed when using a generic Logitech controller however there is a weird input delay now, especially noticable in the menus.

also tried recalibrating the switch pro controller and turning off and on steam controller support, and messed around with the steam input joystick settings.

looks like I'm stuck with this problem and may as well refund , it's just way too frustrating to get the game comfortably playable.

I also had this issue woth my pro controller. I fixed this by goinf into the controller settings and reducing the dead zone within steam. It seems that it reduces the max by default. Make sure you increase the ingame movement stick deadzone if you find that your character is moving by itself.

Edit nvm I thought I fixed it, I guess not.

I have the same issue and I've found that you can fix it for the game session if you unplug your controller, move a bit with the keyboard, and then plug it back in. I usually do this 1-2 times when I start playing and after that it works.

My wife had this problem with a DualSense controller, and she fixed it by enabling Steam Input and changing the left joystick's response curve to aggressive.

The Toggle to Sprint setting is still broken though. It only ever works as if you have it set to Press.

SOLVED for XBox Controller:
just max your dead-point setting at the controller made the fix for me!
