Pc shutting down
My Pc randomly shuts down while I am playing the game...takes between 5 and 10 minutes to happen. The core temperatur never hits its limits and my Pc fullfills the Gamespecs with no problems...I played Spacemarine 2 with Ultragraphics and had no Problems. I dont know where the Problem is...anybody else has these Problems?

The discussion board is full of threads with that issue. You can try to limit your Memory cache at the GPU instead let it on unlimited. Currently it seems that mostly PC Gamers faceing similar issues. I would say it's a bug and we need to wait until the fix come out.

I would suggest not playing the game then, at least on that PC. This was happening to my old gaming PC and I think the game was too strong that it broke my graphic card. I'm not sure how that works, but I can't use my PC now. At first it was just that game, then it was all my games, now I can't even browse the web lol.

It could probably be fixed with a new graphic card, but I'm just buying a better PC. It was never a top notch gaming PC because most of my games don't need anything spectacular.

I just wanted to warn you, in case it happens to other PCs too. Shame, I was really having fun with this game.

i had this happen with other games, it ended up being my PSU, pc would randomly shut down on certain games but not others, it was likely the gpu spiking and tripping something in the psu, there are various PSU stress tests out there you can do, thats what confirmed it for me

I would also tend to suspect the PSU, whether it's failing outright or just unable to reliably meet peak load. GPU load I can understand (Veilguard's a bit on the flashy side), not sure why it'd be loading the CPU heavily (at least, there's not that many actors running around in any given scene, and it's not like there should be a lot of physics calculations re: destructible environments?), but maybe it's happening.

There are overlays and other tools (hwinfo64, say) you can use to track CPU and GPU power usage.

When was the last time you changed the thermal paste of your CPU? The heat conductivity of the thermal paste will degrade over the years, it should be high time you change it as I think it is the main reason of overheat. Not psu, not air or liquid cooler, not motherboard, but the thermal paste.

I decided to just buy a new PC. I don't know how to do all that tech stuff and the cost to get someone else to do it would be almost the same as buying a new one. I just won't play this game.

Sometimes, that is the best thing to do.
Not even your PC wants to play it, it must be a huge hint for you.

since it affects so many as you're indicating and how most gamers understand diagnosing bugs by checking what windows says about the crash.

this game is a GaaS and as such if it's not having a good ... i'm sure people get the point here. i'd press the devs hard before more are pulled support ends like these other games that GaaS that released recently

i keep crashing as well and im sure its the psu too

i got a 6900XT and R5 2600 and some unoptimized or buggy games seem to generate power consumptions spikes that trip my Corsair 750i even when limiting the power draw of my gpu by 10%. Arena Breakout Infinite does that too. But sometimes my PC doesnt shut down it just crashes the game on Veilguard
Lol damn.

Sounds like a power supply issue.
Dexter in the Dark Dec 21, 2024 @ 12:46pm
there could be a number if reason for this, as other have mentioned it could be a PSU problem, but it could also be a ram problem, i also know there is a problem related to amd processors that updating you bios fixes https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/1g4i2o7/friendly_reminder_update_your_bios_if_you_are_on/
