I am using NVIDIA and I got this error too
Yes, definitely. It's pretty constant and getting to the point of being game-breaking. I've seen a few other people reporting this issue elsewhere, so it's apparently fairly common. Wondering when we can expect a hotfix.
I came across this same solution via Google. It worked for me exactly once and no time since.
After updating my driver, validating my files, restarting, trying different saves with no luck I made space on my SSD, moved the game and it loaded up the correct save quickly and with no issue.
C:\Users\(username)\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age The Veilguard
Is the folder to put into an exclusion
Nope. This has nothing to do with anti-virus scans.
It created 2 different save pathways. The first one is where my original game saves went, right under Bioware. The second is under the "Documents" section. Someone else shared their pathway, and it also was under documents, and looking in there, I see other Bioware games have done the same.
This is where my saves were that weren't loading:
1. "C:\BioWare\Dragon Age The Veilguard\save games\128953833\0-439266\0-439266 Elysande-Home sweet whatever #249.csav"
This is where the saves that loaded correctly upon making a new character were:
2. "C:\Users\genac\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age The Veilguard\save games\128953833\0-440351\0-440351 Turvi-TESTSAVE #4.csav"
I copied the files from 1. (the folder inside - 128953833) and pasted them into the matching file location in the 2, and now can load both games correctly.
I hope some of you find this works for your issues!
1) Create a new character and save as soon as possible.
2) Shut down the game and have it check the integrity of the files.
3) Turn on the game and load the new character file.
4) Switch to the original character and load the second to last save.
5) Done.
Let me know if this worked for you too.
I was suffered by that error and about to buy a new ssd but you ENDED IT
thanks a L O T!!!!
Yesterday all the autosaves loaded my character as a bald default character, but loading my manual saves fixed it. Today the latest save I could load was an autosave checkpoint from the lighthouse. The game is acting like its own cc causes it to think you are using incompatible mods or something.
These actual issues people have end up going under because of all the idiot trolls who saw a YT video feel the need to spam the forum with their "opinions".
